Hi guys,

After completing my design work for the night... I started looking into facebook adverts! I decided to try running one for 2 weeks (not long I know but to see roughly what sort of response I would get...)
Now I know a lot of you will say... Oh yeah, facebook wont give me the right clientelle.... and for some of you I agree! However I've had a few lovely high paying gigs from facebook and referels are coming in from there a lot recently!

ANYWAY... I came across this site: http://www.adcouponcode.com/

Which offers $50 coupons for $5.95... which works out about £31 voucher for £4..... I took the plunge... purchased a code.. and IT WORKED!!!

So if you want to try facebook adverts... without a major expense.. I really suggest using that site to get a code BEFORE you start creating your facebook ad!

The only rules I saw were:

1. You MUST NEVER redeem any coupon/code before.
2. One coupon per account. CANNOT be used with other coupons.
3. NEED Credit card to activate advertising account.
4. You CANNOT redeem coupon on another account with same credit card.

SO if you have already tried adverts on facebook... here are my suggestions on getting around these rules:

1 and 2) Create a new account... simples! Make sure you use a different email address!!

3) Most of us probably have a debit and a credit card.... if not, ask a family member or a friend*!! But please remember... if the ad start charging the card to stop it LOL!!

4) Refer to get around number 3... use a different card or a relatives/friends card*

*Actually ASK their permission... especially if it's the other half!! Don't wanna get in trouble with the old ball and chain :D :D :D

We.... I hope this helps some of you!

I was going to keep it a secret and offer it out as part of my new Facebook Service.... keeps your eyes peeled on my folder for that! ... but it was too good an offer to keep it away from you lovely lot :D :D :D

Right... I'm off to bed!! I need sleep now!

xx alex xx

PS: As I have a great love for this forum and it's members ... I've only mentioned it on THIS forum!!
Just thought I'd let ya know ;)

Alex can you update us on the effectiveness of this as I still have some serious doubts however might be worth using to promote a karaoke night I'm doing soon.

Will do :)

My add starts running tomorrow... for 2 weeks... I'm tracking all clients that come from the ad... so I'll know which pages they visit and which ones they leave from...

I'll also know which ones request a quote! LOL

So I should have some stats in two weeks :)

Daryll,

You need to purchase the code from that website... and then they will email you the code to your paypal email address.

Once you get it, log into your facebook book account, and start to create an advert...

Once thats completed... go into your advert management screen and you should see BILLING on the left hand menu.
If you click that, you should see FUNDING SOURCE...

From there you ADD A FUNDING SOURCE... (Top Right Button :) )
You should be able to enter the coupon code there :D

Alex how much have you set your 'MAX Pay per Click'' at?

Alex
11-02-2011, 01:00 AM
I set my max click value at 75p however facebook recommend:

Current Bid: £0.75
Suggested bid: £1.73–3.02 GBP

But I find that stupid as my average click cost at the moment is 64p!

I aimed it at people
-----------------------------------------------
╬ who live in the United Kingdom
╬ who live in Chichester, Portsmouth or Southampton
╬ age 18 and older
╬ All Genders, Interest in Male and Female
╬ in any relationship status
╬ who are not already connected to Alex Entertainment

-----------------------------------------------

MAJOR TIP --- MAKE SURE YOUR ADVERT IS RUNNING!!!!
When I set up my advert is was NOT actually live.. I didn't spot this until 1 hour later! LOL

It seems the ad I created yesterday has disappeared.

It was definitely there as it said it was going to start at 9am today.

Had it been approved? Facebook has to approve all ads before they go live.

Click on "Full report" can you see any activity there?

Ok - ive suck 2 ads ou now - one for my DJ page & one for my 'Disco-Bounce' Page......

My dj page is getting a lot more hits - the reaosn being tat so many people in the area allready liek it (over 3000), so when the add comes up on peoples facebook it also sayd on it that XXX number of their friends already like it - hence they are more inclined to click on it to see what its about...

My 'disco-Bounce' page has only 41 likes and hardly any clicks...

Its all explained in the stats - check it out :)
