View Full Version : Today I met......
Darren Thomas of MDD.
I travelled down to Reading to purchase the EFX500 he was selling. Darren is not at all grumpy, but a really nice chap.
You can tell Darren is very passionate about not just the industry, but about making sure people have the best time possible time and get value for money.
Nice to meet you today Darren and thanks for the tea. Hope to see you at BPM in October for a :beer1:

Well yeah, but until now that was a well kept secret. ;) :D :D :D
Nice to meet you today Darren and thanks for the tea. Hope to see Peter at BPM in October for a :beer1: Good man. Nice to see you haven't forgotten. ;) :D
OK, time to be serious. Fleetingly. No matter how it may appear on here, Darren is one of the Good Guys. He is as Neil said, passionate about the industry, and single minded in his endeavours to improve its image and performance. In person, he's an absolute hoot, and a brilliant bloke.
Phew, that was hard work! I'm off now to see where I can make a facile or fatuous comment, this serious lark really isn't my scene. ;) :(
Good man. Nice to see you haven't forgotten. ;) :D
Oooh you posting hacker.
If it had said two beers it would have been for you :beer1: :beer1: . See apart from being the wrong colour there is your beer.
I hope we can find a decent pub after BPM with some proper gravity fed booze for you.

He is when he is on his computer.
His passion for the industry, dedication to the forum and directory, coupled with the fact he doesn't suffer fools lightly is possibly wrongly perceived as grumpiness; but grumpy he is not.

That's not too easy. We did however find a splendid Steak house, with a lovely dark mild at advantageous prices. Corabar Steve and I were very happy with it. ;)

Yeah, but come on, he does hide it very well. ;) :D :D :D :D :D

He's gone quiet...must be off blushing somewhere.
I have spoken to Daren a few times since he bought the Wizards off me and he certainly does sound a nice chap and knows all about this job. Also a friend of mine saw him working on Sunday quite by chance and she was impressed, she said he was smart, confident and managed to get a packed floor out of a potentially awkward crowd...Oh and she said the show was nice too, good sound andd she especially noticed a LED light...something about squares?
