UHF Mics

I'm looking at getting a pair of UHF mics- so ideally 1 receiver.

This will be used for speeches (i.e. Weddings, Birthdays), and possibly my own use. They will not be used for Singing.

Budget, probably up to £250 and I'm also getting a pair of budget 12" Actives (W-Audio 12A).

I've found a few;
Citronic MP216UHF
AKG WMS40 Pro
iTrans Twin Mic UHF

I'm still looking around, but would value opinions from owners/users of these. Looking to get these tomorrow.

I would always recommend JTS but I have a KAM I acquired from Martin which has impressed me--although the off switch cuts noisily across the PA---unless its a dodgy switch--the Disco shop think its not fixable,

Oooh... you didn't tell me about that.

As it happens I have a spare handset in amongst my final box of bits - so I'll dig it out and send it on.

Can't guarantee it works as I've no way of testing, but worst case scenario is you have yourself a spare switch.

OP - out of those listed I'd probably veer towards the AKG but if the budget can possibly stretch a little then Shure or Sennheiser would be the ultimate choice. I don't think any of the Trantec kit comes close on budget.

For a cheapie the KAM 1930/1940 series of which Alan speaks is definitely worthy of checking out but that's way under budget.

The ones I have are excellent.

Do Shure & Sennheiser do twin sets i have never come across them :confused: but i agree AKG good value.

Yep, Shure do a twin PG58, not sure about SM though.

I would reccomend trantec mic there very good! The make which I have is the s4.4 I have two of these.

No problem Martin, its only been used once;)

Its a back up but I am very impressed with the quality.

I will keep watching the post, are you saying the switch is probably defective and causing the noise--sounds logical !

Best mike I have used recently was Corabar Steves Shure SM58 wireless--its the price thats the problem:eek:

if the kam mice channels are set too close together you will get a thump over the pa when turning on/off. I remember it stating in the manual they have to be 4 channels apart from memory
