Hi all, Has anyone had any experience with these http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_box_pro_gala_set_404_112.htm or does anyone have a good recommendation for bins and tops.

Thanks in advance.

Just to add it will be my main system

If you're after that type of set up, why not go down the Bose route?

I know they're more expensive but I don't think there a huge amount more? I could be wrong. :)

The Bose systems are around £1500-1600 for each pole and sub combo, so three times the price of that Thomann one, by the time you've bought two lots.

Looks ok ,but the golden rule do not buy without having a listen, bit to late after you have splashed your cash.

A little bit awkward to listen to THE BOX version , unless you live in Germany.

Thats exactly what I was thinking and the reason I wanted first hand experience, I am open to suggestions and varied prices

Thats why i made the suggestion would you buy a sound system from Germany
without hearing it and your unlike to come across that system in the UK.

The op needs to set a budget and what sort of jobs does it have to cope with ,are there size or transport issues then he will get a lot of guidance from members.

I know a guy (a singer that does karaoke on the side) and he bought some 'The Box' units when I refused to continue bailing him out with lending him my gear.
From what I heard of it , 'The Box range' is utter rubbish , built neither to a standard nor price.

Why not plumb for a pair of Mackie SRM450's and a Mackie SRM1501 sub ?
Loads sell on fleabay , and you can sell them on again through fleabay if you don't like them....

There are two different kinds of theBox. Pro and Normal. I know of a few people in the theatres that use some of the Box Pro stuff and almost swear by it. They were rather surprised at the build quality and sound.

Collection could be a problem, but the seller may allow you to arrange your own courier...

Even if you go for one of the 705AS bass bins second hand, and look at the 312a's tops as a new purchase.

These systems have only good feedback from all I hear!
Why not the active option with passive tops?
I use an LD dave sub with passive RCF 310 tops. Sounds excellent.

http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_box_cl_106112_basis_bundle.htm

or HK lucas:
http://www.thomann.de/gb/hk_audio_lucas_smart.htm

or: http://www.thomann.de/gb/nova_inova_8_power_system.htm

which looks more like the one you mentioned but cost a fortune.
