I spent quite a bit of Thursday replacing the wheels (mk1 version) on my micromax with heavy duty blue (blue is the industry standard you know* :sj:) castors from CPC.

Took quite a while (I don't know what the base plates are made of, but they blunted 2 titanium drills), but it was worth it in the end.

They have improved maneuverability no end. It positively glided from he van to the venue whereas it used to be quite an effort & once inside I could literally move it with one finger.

Must remember to apply the brakes while loading / unloading though, it now has a tendency to run away if left unfettered.

Added a couple of cms to the height too (which is good)

I'm now considering ordering a batch of steel, and making different bars for my Ultimax. Definitely some six foot ones for a start, and probably some smaller ones as well. There's also going to be a radical change to the overhead, so that the Trilite LED bar fits better, but as yet I haven't decided what form that will take.
