Due to my missing the Class D's that Chris (pp ents) sold to the lucky Mr Hanley, if anyone has a cheap pair of 12" passive cabs, I'd be interested in them. Wooden or Plastic matters very little, it's just I have a particular job in mind for them. Most things considered. Thanks.

I've got some that I first started out with....they're scruffy 12 inch stagelines.....but are indestructible.

I'll shove them in the motor and meet you somewhere....bring along a few of them lights and we'll do a deal.....

10" + horn , with crossover , the main driver is an Eminence gamma 10R , the cabs are rated at 250w rms each , light weight , made of wood , I can issue pics if needed , but not at this time of night :D

Without being insulting , Toby, a lot less than those cabs are worth. ;) If my ebay items don't come in under budget, I may have to commence negotiations with you, Martin, and possibly Daryll. ;) :D

I don't doubt that for a second. That's part of the problem, there's really no way they should be in the price bracket I have in mind. However, if the Ebay ones don't pan out, then I may have to offend Toby by offering him a pittance for them. :o :o :o

They would be the good old trusty 158's. 15 signifying a 15" driver, and 8 signifying 8 ohms. Thanks for the offer Gareth, but again, size matters. 12" was specified, for reasons of size , response, and portability. I already possess a pair of Peavey Eurosys 3's which are 15", and even they're a bit big for what I want. Thanks again mate.

Coaxial drivers just sound so good and save lots of space in the cabinet.

They are a proper solid piece of kit.
I am so used to my RCF's now anything over 12 kg seems far too heavy :D

How much is pittence? remember a new driver on its own costs £200 from Tannoy :eek:

Out of interest, why does it need to be a 12" cab?

Various reasons, but I'll give the most important ones.
1) Size. For these functions, there are other folk using the stage/playout area. The last one was very very cramped, and a small pair of 12's would have been very useful.
2) The main part of the evening features quite a lot of speech, as well as music, and 12's would I feel be better for the vocal part. Better than my big 15's certainly, and probably better than my Peavey 15's.
3) While I know that smaller ones than 12's might be even better for this purpose, I have to finish the night with disco, so need cabs that won't run out of puff when I push the faders up a bit. Since my budget won't stretch to the likes of QSC/RCF I reckon a decent pair of 12's will fit my needs, when used over my subs.

I am having a clear out at the mo and although it would be a shame to part with my OHM RW2's. For a good home they could be let go. 12" drivers and nice tidy little birch ply cabs.

May be tempted for something around £150.00. Otherwise may as well keep them as they are fun for BBQ's and stuff.

For anyone interested, I did a deal with Martin (Starzsounds ) for his Stagelines, and then picked up almost exactly what I wanted on Ebay. A pair of W Audio PSR-12's. They arrived today, and apart from a minor problem on one cab ( which doesn't actually affect it a lot, as far as I can tell ) , are excellent.

I reckon the stagelines will become a project for the future. A new covering, a couple of corners to replace, and crossover/compression drivers for the HF, and we'll see what we have. ( Though I have to say, they are a very acceptable sound as they stand. );)

2) The two pairs I now have in my possession have cost me far less than one pair of Tannoys. :D ( The price of which was always the stumbling block, Toby. I knew what they were worth, and that was at least £50 more than I was going to pay )
