Hi all,

Been thinking of putting the smoke machine on the giraffe overhead stand with the lighting from now on instead of on the floor.

Does anyone else do this? If so is the shot of smoke downwards into the crowd a better effect?

Cheers :)

I keep it at floor level and wave it around.

Yer i like to pint it to each side of me and into each corner - if there is one.

I do like the effect when it is up on the bar, but it dont half look ugly up there...

 !!

I keep mine on the floor, with a piece of wood right in front of it to disperse it.

Mines haze, though.

Thanks so far people, I'll have a search around here.

I just liked the idea of it pointing downwards from the bar if I was on a stage instead of the usual floor level spread.

I've been looking at the moving head smoke machines, they look bloody cool.

people dancing should move it about on the floor. also air flow in the room. unless its a decent haze.

Complete waste of money though IMO.

Usually in the manuals, it recommends not placing smoke machines at head height. ;)

Once upon a time, I had my smoke machine on the floor. I gave it a huge blast. All over a Lady's handbag.

I have mine on the floor.in the centre.i think it looks better the effect coming out of the machine on the ground rather than above.

The downside to having it positioned on the overhead truss is that it can spill out all over you and your electrical equipment.I would consider that a safety issue.

I put mine on the floor with a small fan next to it to disperse the smoke.

just be careful if hanging the smoke machine that it dosen't spit hot fluid. Sometime smoke machines will spit a little and hot fluid on our guest might upset them!

They look quite interesting. Never seen one of those before. Would be good to mount on a rig.
