That's a belting little product, Mike. Like you say, it would be great for wedding speeches.

Just been looking at the spec on your site. What is the internal battery & how do you charge it? Is it removable or do you plug the whole thing in?

surround sounds

Its a shame its only 100watts,it would be great as back up as well.Good for £200ish thou.

Its a shame its only 100watts

Why?

It might be very efficient.

It might be very efficient.

I know what you mean, but as a kind of general rule. I doubt 100 watts will be massively loud.

This could be the most efficient thing on the planet and be adequately loud, and could be terribly wrong.

But I see where surround sounds is coming from, and at 100 watts i'd be inclined to say its not going to bee all that loud.

Do you agree?
:)

As usual Darren is correct.

I run my RCF's on 100 watts and without any bass (just the tops 200 watts total) they are really good.
I used them in a marquee with a sound limiter and they were too loud infact :)

Judging by the make though I doubt they are very efficient, but you never know.
If you have a spare 125+ SPL driver hanging about that would be a great option and one I would consider.

Crackin' little idea I think, ideal for loads of different scenarios, seems people want the moon on a bloody stick for £200 these days.

No. Power isn't loudness.

No. Power isn't loudness.

No, but it gives you a General idea. A 800 watt speaker is likely to be louder than a 100watt

Another example is on my old car the speedometer stopped working, I was able to get a GENERAL idea of my speed using the rev counter

As a general rule of thumb more power = more noise

Kind of a guide :)

Thanks Graham.

I'm planning to use it as a remote speaker for smoking areas at weddings and possibly as a discrete source for ceremony music, so it doesn't need to be "bangin"!

Any other first hand reviews?

They use them at Dudley zoo, and I must say for outdoor use they are quite impressive. The only let down was the operator (she had the most annoying voice )

Just to re visit this thread, I have been asked to do the ceremony music as well , So has anybody got one yet and will it be good for the ceremony music, I think Paul and I are waiting on tenderhooks.

Right guys, had a play in the house, and TBH, im impressed.

Fairly light, very easy to operate and a clear crisp (for the price) sound.

The radio mic's arnt brilliant, build quality wise ald feel/look cheap...but I suppose they are ;) Not sure on the range right now, but I'm going to take the system down to my dads and check it outside.

Overall, right now I'm impressed. I'm thinking of getting one of QTX's plain and simple powered speakers, the QR12A as a bit of extra sound reinforcement...the only downside is the fact that their basic model still requires power cables....

Your are mixing your self up with the UHF channel 38 de-regulation. :)

I'm not sure that's the right phrase either! Channel 38 is the new channel that is available for UHF radio mics. Channel 69 won't be used anymore - just channel 70 and channel 38.

Ohh I would be dubious relying on a battery speaker for such an important moment. Much rather prefer a decent mains powered studio monitor speaker. :)

Do you not use radio mics for speeches then Toby? same principle....

If its fully charged then there wont be an issue IMO....
