New Flyer - Quick Opinions Needed

Got a Wedding Fayre to do a week on Sunday and so needed to knock together some flyers.

Any suggestions, feedback etc. on this..

Looks good (I'm not a fan of the font used though, that's just a personal thing though). The pictures seem very close to the edge. If you're sending them to be printed professionally you'll need to allow for bleed (trimming around the edges). From the looks of it you wont lose any part of the images....but it'll be extremely close.

Thanks Shaun, I'm not sure about the font either, but wanted something with a bit more impact against the black background, than just plain arial or tahoma.

I've put a 2mm bleed margin around the design and the photos are probably another 2mm in from that. However, I could make the logo a bit smaller and move them away from the edge a bit further?

Yep, definitely make the logo a bit smaller and move away from the edge. I'd allow a 3mm bleed all round, and as a rule I try to keep all other objects at least another 6mm from the bleed (e.g. all objects at least 9mm from the outside edge). That's just me though. :)

Remember to save it at 300dpi and in CMYK format (although you probably know that already - teaching granny to suck eggs and all that :d).

Hate the font and the telephone number isn't really clear.

I know what you mean, but I'm trying to keep them pretty multi-purpose as it's only a few quid more to have 500 printed than it is 100 so will have plenty left after the fayre.

I don't think it's likely to put anyone off by having those on there.

Another thing I should mention is I'm not really pushing DJ work at this fayre as a DJ colleague is also exhibiting and got me a free stand in exchange for providing kit for the fashion show, so the flyer needs to look less "mobile disco" and more "event/hire company" if that makes sense?

Why not do front and back - wedding info on the front and other services on the back?

Yeah that's a good idea, could make this the "other services" side and do a pink weddingy side as well.

Watch the bleed (area round the edge). :) 3-5 mm best. You will end up with the top image being chopped off and almost the web address.

Looks OK. add 30%blue to the black background it will make it more vivid (an extra colour) and you will not see the blue.
I would also add some colour to the text and space things a bit better (ie the logo and the top image etc.

Thanks Toby, I've added a bit of blue (:eek:) but had to put it right down to 5% to make it subtle enough - though I've used your idea to make the Wedding side more Wedding-y!
