Stars Biographies/Auto-Biographies.....

I have a fascination with these books...they give a good insight into what was happening behind the scenes with Stars at the peak of thier Stardom....

So far I have read....



Among those that I have read and enjoyed are

Simon Cowells'
Sharon Osbournes'
Shane Ritchies'

Currently I'm finding it hard to put Joe Longthornes' down.

I can't see why half of the people who put them out feel the need to do so in the first place (other than financial gain). Justin Bieber FFS!!! He must've lead a really interesting life so far!

I like a good autobiography - Bob Monkhouse one was very interesting and well wrtitten. Ken Bruce one was a bit uneventful.

I have also read Fred Dibnah's and have read Richard Hammond's.

Jeantte's just started book one of Paul O'Grady's. Should be interesting. The last one I read, I think, was very enlightening, very good, and left me with even more respect for the man than I already had: Keith Floyd.

I read that last year - he's a hero of mine and I found it very sad in places. Good read though.

I don't get much chance to read for pleasure, but when I do it's generally biographies/autobiographies or history. Further, I generally don't bother with "celebrity" biographies. The only two I've read are both of Chris Evans' books and John Peel's.

On the subject of autobiographies, I'd really recommend Ronald Reagan's book "An American Life", Sandy Woodward's book about leading the task force to reclaim the Falklands "One Hundred Days" and General Sir Mike Jackson's book "Soldier".

As much as I try to understand, I can't see the modern day fascination with other peoples' lives - famous or not.

I don't think I've ever read a biography or autobiography, although I have read up on various musicians, actors and historical figures on Wikipedia (which is really just a brief overview) if that counts? :)

I love to read but the only autobiographies i have read were Nigel Mansel which was very booring and the official Biggles autobiography which i enjoyed:)
mostly I read as a form of escape and autobiographies jost don't seem to do that fo me.

If you thought Sharon Osbournes book was good (so did I) you should read Ozzy's one, it is very funny.

Read that and the Rock's and hundreds of others - I do read them a lot.

I am reading Ben Elton's latest offering, alongside Jeff Stelling's 'Jelleyman's thrown a wobbly' with a bit of the Master Wedding MC chucked in too. ;)

I also love Biogs and auto biogs, anything based on true life is pretty much all i read, celebs, footballers, serial killers....lol, at the minute i'm reading Jools holland's - barefaced lies & boogie woogie boasts, it's quite good (not great) but gives a good insight behind the scenes ot "the tube" tv show (one of my fave tv shows and blast from the past).
I recently read chuby browns book now that was interesting.
