... but does anyone want to own up to being Chris?
If you want to stay incognito, asking about several topics that have recently been discussed on the forum isn't the best way to do it.
Also not too many genuine customers withhold their number.
I sussed you very early on in the conversation, especially when I mentioned contact details & you steered the conversation away from them.
There were several other tell tale signs too, but I can't be bothered to go into them right now.

Nah, he sounded grown up :sj:
I'm not 100%, but I think I recognised the voice. Seemed familiar.

How pathetic!

Is this the trigger for a multitude of "I'm Spartacus" posts? :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

How can you prove it was someone on the forum?
Could it have been someone that typed DJ into Google, came across the forum and went through recent posts as a guest? Then they could have followed the link of your signature and called you from there?
lol – That almost sounds too well thought through… It wasn’t me guv!!!
What kind of thing did they ask?

PATHETIC being the right word here Steve if it is someone 'pretending' again!

The correct thing to say would be 'copied the link from your signature' but I digress. :)

“off your signature” would have been fine for me, but I draw the line at “of off your signature”… That would really grind my gears.:)
Hey, you know what else grinds my gears?

It was fairly obvious it was somebody who had at least read the forum within the few days leading up to the call.
Wasn't me. I am far too busy to waste my time wasting other peoples time.

...and today Chris' name was 'Richard'.
I hope you enjoyed our chat - whoever you are. Seriously, if you want copies of our paperwork / prices, etc please just ask. It really would be a lot quicker for both of us! Still, it was quite a fun conversation, so we don't mind playing along a bit, but twice is enough now!
Today's giveaway that it was someone who reads the forum was the fact that they obtained a quote for a particular venue then went on to say that it is the parents-in-law-to-be who booked it, and you don't like it and are thinking of changing it to another, much nicer venue.
Guess what, I didn't lie, we really do charge the same no matter what the venue is!
