Controlling a quad phase

I have a american DJ quad phase on order that I will sometimes be using as a centre piece directed onto the dance floor

I would like an easy way to set a colour and slow it down say for a first dance then back to sound to light mode when the party gets going the ADJ UC3 will slow it down but as I understand it will not set a colour


So is a DMX type controller the only way to achieve this or could this be achieved with a simple par can controller

Got a couple of weeks before my next gig so cannot really give a review just yet but had a quick play it does not produce dots but small squares of bright light either of single colour or made up of two or four squares of different colours unlike the Revo 3 and 4’s that I have that are only have four colours this produces thirteen Colours
first impressions I think it’s going to give me the atmosphere I’m looking for
