View Full Version : Mounting a laser on my stand?
Some of you saw my thread a couple of weeks ago where I was experimenting with this
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/_udxYkibPwZM/TVkrH-ouKcI/AAAAAAAAFfY/smzbS3SFvlY/s512/DSC03189.JPG
I've decided that I also want to optionally mount a laser on the stand too in order to give a bit more effect when I want it. After a bit of fiddling I probably need to mount it on it's side on the vertical bar, just under the EFX500 and I would like to be able to point it into different part of the room.
The units would be equinox atria's at 3.2kg not too heavy.
What would be suitable for mounting this to a 32mm bar vertically?
An ultimax open casting wouldn't work as the bolt is orientated differently to how I need to mount the unit. ie. on it's side.
Ideas and thoughts gratefully received.

Thinking about it, the vertical is actually 35mm, do you think it will be ok as there is not a 35mm specific part?

The next size up is 38mm there is a fitment called a super clamp ,i suggest you have a good look at the Doughty catalogue i am sure you will find a suitable fitting for your application in there vast range.
I quite often use a v clamp when i want to add a fixture to a vertical pole part no G1530
Try one of THESE (http://www.whybuynew.co.uk/cables-accessories/clam10-prolight-multi-lighting-clamp.htm) They come with 2 additional 'liners' to allow them to fit smaller tubes. I will see if I still have the inserts and measure them for you if I can find them.

These will not fit 35mm tube .Only 26mm or 39mm

The Supaclamp and a spigot looks a good option. Very quick to setup. Do you know a good reliable supplier of these items as i am struggling to find a place to order them on the web in the uk? Cheers
