As the title states...
How many are aware of this and how it will affect the UHF/Radio Mic systems that maybe used by our profession ?
(I did do a search of the forums, but came up with nothing... SO if this topic has already been discussed, please update me).
Background Information
If you use, hire or manufacture wireless microphones, in-ear monitors, talkback or programme link equipment in the television band 470–862 MHz then your business is likely to be affected by the Government’s plans for digital television.
The Government has already started its plan to switch off analogue terrestrial television broadcasts and replace them with digital transmissions. This began in the Border region in 2008, has now progressed through the North West of England, Wales, the West Country and much of Scotland and will be completed in the rest of the country by the end of 2012. Since a large number of digital television services can be accommodated in a smaller amount of spectrum than is needed for current analogue broadcasts, there is an opportunity for Government to release spectrum for other purposes.
