Mackie Swa1501 and mackie s215

hi all im thinking of buying 1 Mackie Swa1501 would this run ok with my mackie s215 speakers or would i need to get smaller ones like 12" or a bigger sub

Yes that would be ideal,did you get the s215 fixed.

hi mate no but i bought one of these Eminence 500W 8 Ohm Delta 15LF Speaker it has the same spec as the one inside the s215 and iv just bought the sub for £300 with protective cover and thanks for your help

I remember when I first used a 1501 at a gig.
I rigged it up so my 450's took signal from the 1501 x-over and powered all the gear up.
I started with the 1501's gain turned all the way down and it sounded quite nice tbh.
There was a 'hole' in the sound though , the sub was producing some remarkably low frequencies and there seemed to be a loss of frequency reproduction between the top end of the sub and the bottom end of the 450's.
It turned out that it was to do with the accoustics of the venue .
During the rest of the equipment setup I went outside for a breath of fresh air only to be greeted by the missing sound.
I'm sure some bod on here with the relative knowhow will explain what I mean in a way you will understand.
I know what I mean , I just can't put it into words.

Now I use a DBX Driverack when I use my 450's and 1501.
The built in equaliser and automated 'room tuning function' work wonders .

Agree the drive rack is a great bit of gear they do one just for active systems always used one on a former RCF tops /subs set up i used to run.
