I usually write my own content for my websites, however am struggling with a few new pages I need for one of my sites.
Can anyone reccomend anyone who writes content for webpages ?? :beer1: :beer1:

I'm the same. Can design them and everything else, just not write the content. The wife seems pretty good at it though!

I'm useless with a blank page in front of me - but I'm not too bad at rephrasing and adding to content.
I'm happy to have a go if you've got a basic outline.

Cheers for the offer, but tbh I just can't get started :o . Been sitting here for nearly an hour and have 3 lines in front of me :)
Think may have to leave until in the right frame of mind - may come back to you then :)
Cheers Again.

No problem. What I do in that situation is to copy and paste large portions of text from other sites and then completely re-write it in my own words. It's much easier than starting with a blank page - and the end result bears no resemblance to the copied text of course.

Wont the content sound just like the rest though--with nothing to distance or differentiate you from the opposition?
I would offer but im up to my eyes in paperwork.
Martin Vectis Vibe might help--he seems to have some good catchphrases :beer1:

Wasn't that clear enough  :)
It's just a technique to get past writers block - it gives the mind something to work with rather than staring at a blank page - obviously the end result still depends on the style and skill of the author.

I've had at least one DJ with the excuse that they copied some of my content and changed a few words..
Most of them get a  phone call when I find out...

Sneaky :) - that makes it easier to catch the copiers I presume?
I honestly don't think I could let a misspelling (even a deliberate one) remain uncorrected - it would drive me :daft: knowing it was there!

Great, now that's me up all night double checking my own site (after I've done the hoovering..........again!)
I've wondered if there was any business opportunity in offering a proof reading service with the amount of errors you see on some sites.
But came to the conclusion that those who would see the value in such a service would be likely not to need it, and those that need it the most probably wouldn't care enough to pay for it! So not going to bother pursuing that idea!

Ha, I'll save your time - I didn't look at your site :-) But... I'll recheck mine tomorrow
I did get my partner to proof my site, but have added sections since.
I think you're right - those that don't think to check, certainly won't pay for it.
I'd normally suggest a forum review of a new site, fresh(ish) set of eyes and all that - but I guess if its a big site with typos on every page, no-one is gonna list them all..

Yes very clear your using exactly the same stuff as everybody else written in your own way.
Im not sure thats what PP is looking for.
I would imagine something different and original is required---

If you haven't the imagination to understand then it's pointless explaining it to you!
Right - I'm fed up with the bickering kids and pedants on here - will pop back in a few weeks and see if it's got any better.

This can work very well and can help when your completely stuck for ideas.....Some people call it ghost writing

Some people call it ghost writing
And some people say ghost writing is when someone writes something but it is credited to a different author. Those people are correct. ;)

Martin, please ignore the above comment. You're one of the good guys, this forum needs more people like you & less people who do nothing but bitch & moan.

Try making as many one line notes in either bullet points, or mind map form as you can. It's sometimes easier to write content ticking off the points you want to make as you go, just a thought :)
