Just as an example I did a search on google for the following search strings and these are the rankings that came up:

These appear on pg 1 with the folioing rankings:

Wedding disco guildford - position no 1
Wedding disco surrey - position no 3
Mobile disco hire - position no 6
Mobile disco hire surrey - no 5
Mobile disco karaoke surrey - no 4
Mobile disco karaoke London - no 10

These appear in various pages as detailed below:

We have decided to call it a day and so are now selling up.

However these " rankings " will disappear as soon as you divert the domain to your normal site.

Also, I'm not sure where the legal side of things stands with selling your accounts with people such as DJ Intelligence. Unless you have express permission from your customer you can not SELL data on.

Usage of DJ Intelligence Account is limited to Subscriber and Subscriber's prospective and booked clients only. I assume this will be the same for the hosting company too! A new contract would need to be signed.

The main purpose is not to sell dj intelligence accounts or web hosting. We are selling the website and the business name that goes with it. Like previously said this is ideal for someone starting out or wants to expand their business into London and Surrey. Going on the above information I would like to make more clear what we are actually selling:

Be careful buddy trying to sell a website site / domain on the basis that your ranking well.....

Rankings can change so quick and once someone changes the host / severs your find those rankings will change very quickly.

Also your only ranking 1st for Wedding Disco Guildford on Google places which isn't really 1st and again once those details are change (to whom ever buys it) that will change again.

All am saying is just be careful as you could find this comes back to haunt you.

I would advise the new owner to try and leave the site at its current host and same IP Address if the host can ensure this- most good ones can.

Tweaking the DJEP user ID to point to their account will be quick and a minor change. If the new owner does not have a DJEP account, its worthwhile - or tweaking the code to DJI shouldn't be a big issue as they both work in similar ways.

Redirecting the domain to an existing website really won't be of much value, but developing the existing site will.

If a redirect is required, then a "301 redirect" should be used;

Of course, if you're calling it a day then why not sell the business as a going concern and include the website in the sale? This seems the most sensible course of action even if you are limited to potential buyers in your current area.

Are the hosting and DJI accounts registered to the business or you personally? If they are registered to the business then you wouldn't be transferring ownership of the hosting and DJI accounts as they'd still be owned by the business even though the business has transferred ownership. Something worth thinking about.
