View Full Version : The joys of things needing servicing!
Well had to happen sooner or later.
The more technical the lighting, the more likely it is to give you grief.
One of the EFX's I have recently bought has a poorly pan stepper motor. Can't keep up with the other EFX 500 when they are linked on master slave (in fact its the one set as master fixture that was playing up). So new stepper motor required on that one I think.
One of the MX4's started playing silly monkeys last night too. Lamp on, lamp off, so its either an ignitor or a thermal cut out issue on that too. More fun and games as I will need to diagnose the fault.
At least I have a couple of weeks to get them back to full health before we are out again.
The joys, the joys. At least I can get them all sorted before they join the LED TRI's on light jockey. Sort of getting used to it now.

Its the same as modern Cars unfortunately----the more technically complicated, gimmicky, special additional features, etc, the more there is to go wrong---
and the continual extra cost to fix:eek:

Such is life, it’s the same for me.
Last Friday my UHF wireless started cutting out, I hope it’s an interference problem!
If its not one things its something else!

Yes, but unless you were examining them from the front you would not have noticed. Its a stepper motor or something else internally (my martin engineer mate said what it could be, but can't remember what he said. Its going to him to be done so all is good) Either way its a minor problem and to be expected with kit that gets used regular.

Low battery maybe?
Not sure interference can cut you out--

Shouldn't be as the red light wasn’t on and that battery is relatively new.
I will have to have a play!

Ah, OK.
I would have told you if I had known there was any kind of problem. :)

I know you would man, no worries. I saved a bucket buying second hand, so £20 for a steeper is nout. It does track, just slower than the other unit. Unless you are a complete lighting geek, you would not study the pan tracking on your lights. I do these things as I am a geek. Despite being a geek I still have beautiful wife. This is good.
I am currently watching don't mess with the Zohan, it makes me think fizzy bubbly - disco disco.
