*Recommend Vocal Effects Processor*also need to Boost Microphone Signal

Hi all

I am after a Vocal Reverb/Delay Unit with a built in pre amp as I need to boost my quiet microphone for use with the Traktor Kontrol S4 (which is rubbish with mic volume)

Is there an all in one effects processing unit (obv this would be ideal) or will i have to buy a mic pre amp and seperate reverb unit?

Has anyone got any recommendations? budget is £200

is the sort of thing you're after. I have no experience of such items at all, and it took some searching to find anything near what you asked for. If Neil (NKR, until the rebranding takes effect :D :D :D :D ) comes along, he is the sort of person who should have a clue.

I have no outboard effects unit at present as although we are working with live sound its not really necessary.

If you are looking for versatility in your rig and only limited effects I would get this.

Yes its a desk, but it has all the features you want on board.

On board compression, effects and mic preamps. you could run traktor into one channel and use you mic off another to give full volume control and effects control on just the mic. Would solve all the issues you raised in a single unit of only £150. Also it is versatile as you can run additional mics, inputs, expand into karaoke at a good sounding level and also offer to take a line from artists if you into that.

I run the MG166cx as my FOH desk and would recommend them for quality and sound reproduction. The effects are good.

And anywway, you've come up with a solution by thinking outside the box, and I have to say I'm impressed with your ingenuity, and the versatlityof the kit you linked to. It would do many many more jobs than asked for in the original post, and under budget. Well done that man.

Plus its Yammy so its bomb proof and you know the sound reproduction will be bob on. Its easier to use than messing about with an outboard effects channel off your mixer and trying to get the send and return correct.

Having used the VMS before (as recommended by Peter in Post #2) I can say it's a fairly decent unit. Will do pretty much what you want it to do.

Been trying to find the VocoPro unit that I used to use online but can't (and can't remember the flipping model name!!). But this unit might be of some use (although I don't know if it's intended for mics):
