Being old enough to remeber the sixties, my formative years from 2 to 12 but always hearing music at the pub my mum and dad ran, I checked the playlistings, now that's a new name for album tracks - 60's UK Garage.................
I presume the singles were 60's Uk House..............

The funny thing is, look at the pictures - a lot of the people wouldn't have been born when the music was originally around...

Is there an elevator? (60's garage joke!)For the benifit of those of you who haven't got a clue what Pete is on about, The name of the club derives from the name of a band - "the 13th Floor Elevators

Like me, the original garage scene started around '64/'65 & was all but gone by the summer of love in '67 when I was born. By this time most of the "garage" bands had either got proper jobs / fried their brains with LSD (See Roky Ericson / Syd Barret, yes the Pink Floyd would've been considered garage until they went full on psychedelic) / turned to psychedelia or changed their names & styles & become famous (see Blue Cheer / ZZ Top / Iggy Pop)

There were minor revivals in the early '70s around the time the Nuggets compilation albums were released (pre punk, just), the mid '80s ( particularly in Australia / NZ & NYC) & early '00s (the Strokes, the Von Bondies, the Mooney Suzuki, the Hives etc...)
