Went to a 30th Birthday party, no photo's or other details of the event will be recorded.

However I noted that on the small lighting stand one effect (a soundlab version of a datmoon) the bulb had gone. I went up introduced myself and offered a replacement as I had 2 in the car. The bulb was welcomed the DJ's were 2 18yr olds who had just started out, it brought back memories of when I was starting out. They asked me loads of questions once they knew I was a DJ and even offered me the chance to have a go. I did politely decline as I said to them that I was sure they could manage. I did help them out with music when they asked.

I believe that they appreciated the help, and they did do a good job considering they had only done a few parties. The guests were happy

They offered to come and help me out which is exactly what I did many years ago in order to learn the ropes.

Helping each other is what makes the world go round, and pointing some newbies in the right direction is something that can come back to you ten-fold in the long run

I did not pressure them too much they have my contact details and the offer of help, if they want it I will help, and would also direct them here if they do.

Charlie in terms of music more of the older stuff, 60's 70's 80's and party they had a small CD collection with a good selection of RnB and chart and quite a few NOW comps. They did have a MAC book and had quite a few of the same on itunes, and did have some older stuff, and certainly had some of the key 'mobile' traditional tracks Candi staton, tina charles, Abba, Nolans etc.
