Does that mean you can't play "The Chinese Way" by Level 42 or "Turning Japanese" by The Vapours?

Sheesh....

I saw this on the news this morning and was read by the fantastic John Gaunt, absolutely ridiculous

I heard about this earlier today and thought "WTF!?!"

... but the bloke clearly is an idiot. I mean :-
Simon, who is on bail until today, wrote on Facebook: "If the lad who phoned the police is reading this, WHAT IS WONG WITH YOU? Sorry, what is wrong with you?" Not exactly helping to convince people that he didn't do it deliberately / wasn't trying to be racist, is it?

I bet there is more to that than meets the eye. The wong thing was not needed definitely.
Not wanting to get political or anything I do not believe half the stuff I read in newspapers (especially anything from the Sun). :D

I would rather read independent forums online for my news.

Looking at it on face value however - yes it is stupid.

Sheesh....

Not if there are any Chinese or Japanese persons present, no.

I'm a bit more worried about Tony Orlando and Lord Rockingham's XI

(To save Google the effort, "Tie a yellow ribbon" and "Hoots Mon" :p )

I've worked with this lad a few times, and to be honest I reckon the Wong/Wrong comment is quite possibly a stretch on the part of the Sun. It's certainly not mentioned in the local rag report on the same topic.

Funny you should mention that. I regularly used to play "Ain't gonna bump no more......... " by Joe Tex. I haven't done so for years. Am I mellowing in my dotage?

I did a fancy dress birthday party a couple of months ago and spotted two lads dressed as Mario and Luigi so I dropped in SuperMarioLand (awful song but seemed a good choice at the time!).

Luckily, they didn't report me to the police!! I could've been charged with crimes against music!!

On the back of this article I have just had to sit and re-write my Race Cards for race nights. I had a 'Chinese' name so decided to change that one, looked at the rest of the card and realised quite a few could be offensive. I am now offering a 'safe' card and an 'adult' version - takes the fun out a bit though :( :(
