I have several sites with streamline.net , the main one is crimson tide ; this comes with 5 mySQL databases , another site I am getting up and running ( nothing whatsoever to do with disco`s) , only has one database , now in an effort to save pennies :D , is it possible to use a spare database on the crimson tide domain , and use it on the other site, using the crimson tide password database name etc ?
Cheers

No (I think!).
I use the same database for my site and a forum but both are hosted together.

Or yes if the new site is a sub domain running from the same site

If they're both on the same server it should work. I have lots of domains setup as add-on domains to one main domain and they all use the same database.

I read it that the two sites are different.

If they're both on the same server then it probably is possible, contact the host.
Although the way I read your post, it looks like they could be hosted by different companies, in which case it probably isn't possible - i.e. it is possible but probably disabled for security reasons. If the one with the spare database is running cPanel take a look at "MySQL Remote Access" if it's there. "localhost" will be listed, and you'd add the IP of the server the other site is on.
Then on the other site, instead of "localhost" in any config files for the mySQL server, enter the IP of the database account.
Might work, depending on the security settings.
