The Conga !

OK guys n gals was requested the Conga amongst other black Lace greatest hits on saturday.

The conga then left the hall and continued down the road - the song ended - there was a group of old girls in the corner - I dropped in 30 secs of Frank Sinatra they loved it then the conga came back up the road and I dropped iback in 7/8's of way through then straigh into SUPERMAN !!!

Question is how do you feel about the Conga ?

As Charlie mentioned with the Hokey Cokey I think mic prep work beforehand is really the key. If it works then its going to be the highlight of the night for many of your guests but if it flops.......

As has been previously mentioned, the conga can either work well or fail dramatically!

If I have had a fun crowd at a Birthday Party, at the end of the night, I play Tine Turner - The Best and get everyone to make a circle on the dance floor with the birthday girl/boy in the middle. Once that's finished...I hit them with the Hokey Cokey :D

As I said though, only if they are a fun crowd!! :D :D

Sweet Caroline/The Monkeys/Elvis works better IMO.

I play the congo at teen parties but it's a remixed version of 'follow the leader' and is pretty cool.

Conga is always a massive success for me. I last dropped it at a 30th... aaaaaaaand had to loop it because they all went outside.

ha ha ha its the 1st time Ive ever played it - Ive been out there for 10 years now - super man - yes star trekkin - yes agadoo yes even music man but never the conga but when I did play it I cleared the dancefloor for the right reason -cant wait to play it again I think cotton eye joe will follow next time !!!!!!!

I Played the conga, agadoo and the birdy song on saturday night as requested by the birthday girl and each one was greeted with screams and cheers and the whole place went nuts a very enjoyable evening
(usually i dont admit to owning the birdy song but it seemed to fit in just fine)

Many many many years ago, I had a wedding at a residency. Birdie song was firmly on the banned list. A charming young lady, who must have been all of five years old, came up and asked for it. You would have needed a heart of stone to refuse her. I didn't.

Edit: When I was younger, we used to play the Locomotion, and the entire audience would head off into the car park in a conga ine, and come back about five minutes later.
