Okay!
First gig coming up, 6th June 2011. Slight nervous.
Planning is coming along well.
Rather strange combination of first dance songs: (How would you mix thisss?)
Celine Dion – Power of Love. After 1st verse and chorus cut to next song.
Avenged SevenFold – :Censored: Nightmare. (They don't want the radio edit... wise move?)
You should see their track listing
I have it covered. This is like thee perfect gig as I'm into the same music.
Rather excited.... :daft:
Sorry, just need to vent :D

Just to point out even after four years I worry about my events and that just makes me work harder to make sure everything is ok. As long as the fear doesnt cripple you it only makes you a better DJ IMO.
As its your first gig things will go wrong, its to be expected. If it will help your nerves why not shadow someone more experienced beforehand?

Some of these requested songs are album tracks and not hits from the charts.I hope you have them in your collection.
I try and tell my clients that i prefer songs that have been in the charts, this way most people will recognise the song you are playing, even more chance they will get up and dance to it,from my experience when i play a requested song that is from an album, that not many people know,it clears the dancefloor.
Some great tunes there so hopefully you have a great night.

Having a list like that makes the job even less stressful than having to worry about people coming up and asking for requests !
At least if a track bombs you can blame the person that hired you , assuming the person that hired you is the person getting wed.
Do your best to relax , you'll enjoy it more too....................

Don't relax or get complacent.
It's good to be nervous. It will make you do & play better.
You'll probably find, that you will play maybe 15-20 of their songs, then you will continue with that theme and the bride/groom will leave it up to you. I know my partner when he does discos he gets a long list and he knows some of the tracks people won't dance to and in the end the bride/groom have such a fab day and are enjoying themselves they will leave it up to your professional opinion. The most important thing about weddings are that you have happy bride/groom and happy guests.
Try not to stress yourself out too much, like one of the others said just make sure you have all their songs.
:) and finally GOOD LUCK :)
