How far in advance do you take bookings and do you quote your current prices?
I have just had an email for a wedding in 2013 and didn't quote an exact price as I'm unsure what my pricing will be in 2 years due to the current financial climate and price of fuel etc.

I've had a couple of enquiries that far ahead.
If they have all the details, venue, times etc. and know what they want then I use my current prices and add an amount for inflation etc.
Haven't actually had one confirm though - I think mine have been people checking prices and working out their budgets.

Good Question!
I have only had one enquiry for 2013, and I gave them an indicative figure, but did advise that this is subject to confirmation next year, although I did advise that they would pay 2012 rates which were likely to go up again in 2013.
Client seemed pleased with this and booking is pencilled in, but nothing confirmed or deposit taken until next year...

I think the longest I've taken a booking before is approx 18 months. The question was asked at a wedding fayre and I must admit it threw me - At that juncture I was just honest and said if you book now you can have the Wedding at next years price as I haven't any pricing for 2011 (as it was then) yet. They did book.
Currently all my bookings for 2012 are at next years price which I'd already set at the end of last year (just before the autumn wedding fayre, as I knew I'd probably be asked to quote some 2012 prices).
If anyone asked for a 2013 booking between now and when I set 2013 prices (probably Octoberish) I would add £50 on to next years price for the 2013 quote. Granted it may or may not be an extra £50 when I set the price, but at this moment in time that's what I'd do.

I've got one for October 2013, and have worked on the same principle as simonp, also gave the proviso "as long as I'm still alive!"

Quoted todays prices for 2013. Prices valid for 90days. Rare for someone to book more than 18months inadvance.

I haven't had any enquiries for 2013 as yet but lots for 2012. What I generally do is add on a little bit as suggested already but I also say that the price is fixed and available until 31st December 2011 subject to availability.
We have two bookings in 2013 and quoted this years price as good on them for getting on the ball and also one is October and the other is January so nice to have those in the bag.
Also have 7 bookings in 2012 already and held this years price for them too. Deposits in for all of them as well.
I admit there is a risk on fuel prices, etc, but as a part timer we are happy to take a small knock in profit to have guaranteed work in.

I have had 3 enquiries for 2013 but not quoted as full details were not given. All asked for an approximate quote in order to work out their budget but there were no set times and 2 had no venue booked.
I have 3 bookings for 2012 confirmed and 2 ongoing.
Fees are same as this year but I never have set fees as almost every function is different therefore they are priced individually.

Very risky if you ask me, especially with the financial climate the way it is.
I have prices fixed for 2012. 2013 prices, not that I have had any enquiries :D , I would give an estimate with a final figure quoted in January 2012 (I look at pricing every January).
If the original quote was not too far away I would stick with it however.
