HELLO

after reading this forum and looking at photos i am interested in putting my moving heads on the accessory arms.

I notice that the ''max'' load is 11k, my heads are 12k, but for sure that would be OK with d way they rate them for safety>??

My movers are STAIRVILLE MV250H an i want to use this > http://www.djkit.com/ultimax/support-arms-per-pair.html AND this > http://www.djkit.com/ultimax/top-casting-32mm.html to mount them.

WILL IT WORK? :(

How are you going to use attach the topcasting to the base of the moving head?

kieran Griff

I'm assuming through the whole in the middle of the brackets?

Not so sharp with your movingheads myseld, but all the ones ive dealt with have two seperate brackets. :o

Im guessing yours just has one big bracket? :)

There is indeed (well it is now anyway :sj:, did you mean rogue?)

but for sure that would be OK with d way they rate them for safety>??Could we please keep the "Song of the South" colloquialisms out of conversation. The only acceptable substitute for "the" is "the" :sj:

If you could make the effort, it would be appreciated. :HappySteve: The same rules apply to all of us (& persistent offenders have been known to have offending posts deleted, because site staff have better things to do than go round acting like teachers correcting pupil's mistakes).

Apart from anything else seeing d instead of the, my brain keeps transposing an "Uncle Remus" accent onto your posts :sj: :sj:

I have never used the support arms before, however, common sense tells me that if the rated maximum load is 11kg, then the maximum load you can put on them is 11kg... not 12kg.

ahh not at all, theres always a wee bit of give, or at least I hope hehe.

thanks for your input though young lad.

One thing to bear in mind, if you do go over the rating for the arm and anything DID go wrong, that would be your PLI out the window! For that alone, it's not worth the risk, IMO

I realise there is abit of give, however, that bit of give is there for a reason, therefore it needs to be there.

And as Angela says your PLI would be invalid and your guarantee/warranty with Ultimax.

P.S. Please can you not talk down to me like that by calling me "young lad", I was only trying to help.

I know, but what I said was perfectly valid and correct and it was just pushed to side because I'm a "young lad" who knows nothing.

Hang on now young lad, put your handbag away, it was a Valid point for sure, if you do everything to the book that is, but in real life you 'make do'. now if its doable then il do it, if theres a real chance it wont hold, I wont do it.

Jesus, there must be something in the water at the moment.

I dont have that pli thing so not to worry with tat for the time being.
has anyone else got an opinion or real life experience of the 11/12KG scenario?

As a forum we promote best practise. We don't promote any kind of 'make do' scenarios that could be dangerous or against the law.

You might want to bear that in mind for your future postings.

If you don't have PLI then that is your prerogative, but in this day and age it is silly not to really.

There is a photo on your website Solitaire and you look to be using very similar movers.

Are they on the accessory arms?

No. As you know, the weight of the Imoves is 12Kg and the arms only take 11Kg, so I wouldn't be using them.

No, they are slightly different. I don't think they make the ones I used to use any more.

Apart from anything else it was off topic.

With regards to the accessory arms, whilst, as you say, it probably would hold, when you are working in/around/for the general public, bodges aren't really an option, PLI or not. In a different situation, it may be possible/necessary/"suitable" to push things like weight limits a bit. However, in my opinion, whilst DJ'ing for the public is not it. Would it be an option to use a separate tripod with T-bar for the movers?
