I find it very cruel.

I'm not a 'animal rights supporter' because I do believe in animal testing for medical reasons etc but not to feed a pet snake! Could you not buy it snake pet food?

I'd be interested to know how they kill the 'pre packaged frozen mice' too. I'm yet to come across it in the frozen isle at Sainsburys.

Anyway, each to their own!

So you don't eat meat then Charlie?

Before you start talking about it being cruel, do you always eat free range and organic products?

Have you watched the process of an animal being slaughtered before?

I eat meet but mum buys free ranged eggs and organic meet etc.

I've seen many animals slaughtered before - in real life!

It was my chosen project for RE. I spent a year researching it, going to the farms etc.

TBF - Free ranged/organic stuff doesn't help much! The animals are looked after and killed in a more pleasant way...they are still being killed!

It's nature? When you see on TV when a lion eats a deer I don't think he's worried about how the deer is killed, or how much space he had when he was living.

Animals eat animals, it's nature.

They have a better quality of life. Surely you must have realised that if you 'researched' it?

Snakes eat mice.

We eat other animals.

Yeah, but they are still killed.

I don't think pet snakes should be fed mice. It's not essential they eat mice. Why kill hundreds of mice just so you can keep a snake in your home?

Dave is sacrificing an awful lot more lives to keep his pet.

So when you eat sushi or a maccy d's or anything do you think about it ?

I have a feeling this is one of your silly chidish crusades and if Darren is ok with it i'd rather the thread be closed as i dont want this turning into a "All About What Charlie Does/Says/Thinks" thread as i feel there are enough of them already.........

So what would you suggest that everyone fed all of their pets - whether snakes, or dogs or cats?

They all eat meat, and all meat involves another animal being slaughtered.

Dave, that's very unfair. :(

That video made me feel weird and I'm only voicing my opinion. TBF - I don't understand why you videoed it and posted it on the forum.

Do you not kind of understand how some people would find that video offensive or a bit weird?

How many mice will you have to kill to feed your one pet snake? That's my point. :)

Another way I look at it...tonight and last night I had lambs liver (non organic) The animal has already been killed for other people to eat so I don't mind eating the other parts because it'll only go to waste? If that makes sense. :o

Nevertheless, it's your thread, so I'll close it seeing that's what you want.

Just to add: Charlie, I think you're looking at it rather emotionally, and not logically though. Almost all animals eat another animal, it's just that you only see the processed article, not the 'food' in its natural state.

If they didn't kill mice to feed a snake then cats would get them anyway! Haven't you watched Tom & Jerry before? :D
