There is a great free software called Karafun which i use and i find brilliant as you can make your own background etc and its low on resources so if using a older laptop etc it wont slow anything down :D

karaoke is like any other skill practice and you become better.
karafun is good and simple to use but doesn't have a practical search engine.
rehearse a different ways to say thanks/outro to the singers enthusiastically as maybe sing a few songs your self.

I agree BUT if your karaoke files are in one folder then it does have a function of open file folder and also a function to bring up karaoke library which brings up your folder with karaoke in.
Yes its not a search function but still does the job and makes life quite easy :D

Hi
I offer karaoke as an extra for parties and I have found Virtual DJ is great as you have the option for visuals as well when there is not a singer and you are just doing the disco with no karaoke on your screen.
I have in acess of 15,000 different songs for singers to choose from and believe me I still get requests for songs I have not got.
Like someone has already said the more you do the better your presentation techniques will get

I use the skin on Virtual DJ- 1024 768. It is excellent for karaoke. Once the skin is open,
1.click on FX under the crossfader.
2. Click on video effects..
3. click on karaoke
4. and press activate.
This opens up a separate window.Slide the chosen karaoke song into the box, where you`ll be able to type in the name of the next singer.Just keep adding all the song requests in the box. Pressing enter, automatically puts them to play on disc 1(click on 1 above small screen.
For disc 2,ust add songs to crate and press automix. That way, you just move the crossfader to where you want either karaoke song on 1 or muisc on 2. (Just remember to keep crossfader slightly to the left or your karaoke song will go to disc 2 where your music is playing).
Hope this helps.

I had been using virtual dj for a couple of years before I realised that skin was great for karaoke.
Been doing regular karaoke for a month now and it drove me nuts when music was playing and next karaoke song stoppped the music and went into disc 2 instead of disc 1
Actually just found out on Friday how to avoid that. A couple of notches in from left on crossfader is enough to get good volume on disc 2 and keep karaoke loading on disc 1.
Making the whole night a lot easier and run smoother. Almost appear professional..:D
