kids party let down

we were not working last night, so had a bottle of bicardi and a couple of freinds round.

phone goes at 8.30, panicing woman tells me the disco for her daughters party hasnt turned up, can i help?

ive had 3 or 4 drinks by this time, so tell her i cant drive anywhere. she tells me that they've managed to get a sound system from her nephews bedroom but they still need lights, can they possibley hire some from me.

the venues only 5 mins away, so her man comes to pick me up, and i setup a few lights for them. Very greatful woman hands me some cash and her man takes me home again.

As arranged, he brought the lights back to me at 10.30pm

I didnt ask who had let her down, but she told me she'd paid £200 upfront for the disco without getting paperwork :eek:

Thing is, she's probably never booked a DJ and so wouldn't know what to expect. Some people are very trusting as not as street-wise as you and me.

I just hope she's got the DJ's contact details and gets her money back. Or pass it over for a fraud investigation.

You can get this next time you have had a couple and need to go to a local gig. The kids would love it.
