I got approached to do a 45 minute market research interview the other day, it was for a local card/party shop. Got taken around and asked various questions about the layout, goods, display who I thought the target customer was etc. Thoroughly enjoyed it and got £25 cash.

Been asked by the same Market Research company to do a whole day workshop for which I'll get £100 (plus lunch!).

As I don't work during the week I'm quite up for doing more of these - anyone else a regular?

I did market research when I was about 7/8 with my mum playing with toys :D My mum was paid £50 of which I got £10. I couldn't believe my luck!!

Oh I love those ones - they usually end up walking away from me!

I'm a couple of consumer research panels and get things like free samples to review and keep and, in some cases, cash. I also used to do the TV surveys (what do you watch, how many hours do you watch TV, how many TVs in your household, that kind of thing) and these paid between £10 and £20 depending on how long you were surveyed from (the £20 survey took about 30-40 mins of time).

Easy money, really!

Oh, yeah, and I used to do ID parades at the police station near to where I used to work. Now that was money for standing around doing nowt! :)

Not seen them over here, but when I lived in Yeovil, Taunton and couple of other places was always getting asked. Most I ever got was £150 for reviewing a nightclub, also got free entry for a year ! (they didn't have a very good DJ if I remember correctly !!!)

I did the ID parades when I lived in the YMCA in Cheltenham, one time they had the brief come in and chose 3 people not to be in the line as they looked too much like his client, they still got paid. Thing was they had 3 witnesses and they all picked the wrong person, one had taken his glasses off and had been to the barbers that day !!!

Well I had a lovely day in a conference room at a London Hilton Hotel. About 12 of us took part in a facilitated discussion about energy options for the future run by Cardiff University. Great lunch in the restaurant and plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits and Danish pastries all day. And a cheque for £100 at the end.

I used to do a few of these in the evenings after work.
Still get texts from the lady now and again. Instead of stopping people on the street and finding, for example, a guinness drinker she would contact myself and a mate and a few others and we would have to pretend we were guinness drinkers for a couple of hours. Did another one for a train service and I had to spoof loads even though I hardly ever get the train. It began to become a chore so I havent done one in a while!

Tonight was the best one yet. It was for 2 hours discussing smart phone usage, got to the venue, was told they didn't need me, handed me £50 and sent me home - there and back in 30 minutes - result!
