Now a good friend of mine is a recording/music artist and has managed to land himself on a DMC DJ147 (track 16) and has asked me to design a single album cover for a upcoming single.

We have narrowed it down to 2 designs BUT he prefers one and i prefer the other so i'd like to ask what people prefer on here.

Now the situation is if you saw each one which would you actually pick up and look at.

I dont want any "I'd do this or I'd do that" etc it's purely for either cover 1 or cover 2.

Theses will be printed in square sizes so please disregard the sizes on here lol

PLEASE DONT GO OFF TOPIC !!!!

DESIGN 1:

11986

DESIGN 2:

11987

Design one for me, it's the one which seems to look more professional and all seems to blend better.

Very good btw.

Personally no. 2 for me. I don't like the words going over the trees.

Number 2. Less cramped and more visually appealing. Colorful.

i voted 2 because it is easier to read, but both would do the job

I prefer design 1.

Forgot to give my reason.

There's not much elements to the 'design'. A picture and some overlay text. Whilst I can see why some people chose design 2 because the text was bolder and therefore easily readable. I still prefer #1. The transparency on the text and it's placement dead centre makes the whole design more cohesive and "as one". It just flows better for me. Perhaps even reduce the transparency somewhat, which would make it more readable but still have a nice flow. Design two with the text at the top leaves too much open space emphasising on the palm trees, for my liking. We know it's a summer scene I don't think the emphasis needs to be directed at the actual background which appears to be doing in design two.

So design one, but reduce the transparency a tad to emphasise the main text more. :)

Thankyou for all the words of advice and suggestions :)

Will make some alterations to them and send off to the Record label for them to overlook before putting there logo on :)

Number 1 here too, reasons pretty much as everyone else who stated number 1.

Dave, sorry to disobey your first and main instruction, but I'd say Design 1, but with the bottom text from 2.

I shall now consider my wrist well and truly slapped. :o :D

I much prefer No 1

Just a small thing I think the text is a tiny tad too close together and there is just a tiny bit too much brown at the bottom, very sorry I know you didn't want that but I felt I have to say :)

Number 1 - I like the text over the picture and also like the less bright colour.
