Quiet speaker

I run the following set up:
00DJ
Kam KCM350 mixer
2 X Behringer Eurolive B212D actives

I connect channels 1 & 2 on the 00DJ to channels 2 & 3 on the mixer. I select CD/AUX on ch2 & CD/TUNER on ch3. There's a switch next to the inputs marked CD/PH and they're on PH.

I notice the right speaker is quieter than the left, but only slightly not really noticeable. Am I doing something wrong ?

I'm not familiar with that mixer but surely you should choose cd rather than ph.
Isn't phono meant for vinyl decks?

i would agree thi inputs need to be set to line rather than ph if your using anything other than a record deck?
this could be part of the problem?
though i would imagine when set to ph (both) speakers would be louder as ph has a pre amp for record decks, line dose not.

what happens if you swap your outputs from the mixer to the speakers?
does the problem switch sides?
or stay on the same side?
if the problem switches it seems like the mixer or the input or cable related,

if it stays on the same side have a look at your speakers
are the gains and eq's set the same?
do the speakers have a line/mic switch are both set to line?

you could then check buy swapping the red and white/black phonos over to see if the problem swaps sides?

I get this as well Paul, I use a Pioneer DJM5000 and Mackie SRM450's.

I compensate by turning up the lower side, Like you say though it's very slight but lower all the same.

I remember having this using a Citronic 10:4 and Wharfdale's too.

I wouldn't worry about it. Turn the speaker up a bit

Lol that's what I usually do Andy ! Might have a play when I get a chance. Thing is never had this problem when had passives, so might be slight difference in the vol controls ?

Are the cables (that run from the mixer to the speakers ) the same make ?
Have you got a multimeter to enable you to test the resistance of the cables ?

If you swap the speakers around do you find its the same speaker that has the lower output ?

It could all be down to a slight variance between the channels on the output of the mixer.

Bet its the cables.

ie different quality or ones longer, damaged etc.

I have a massive cable for remote speakers. Two different cables joined with gaffa tape. same thing.

I use gold cables the same length from mixer to 00DJ and same length/type to speakers. Think it might be the switch or maybe update the 00DJ driver. I use ASIO4ALL and have done since got it 4yrs ago. It's got a gigaport AG card, but was told ASIO4ALL was better for using VDJ.
