Just got curious really, wondering if anyone in this fairly large group of people has won anything on the lottery
Do you put the lotto on?
Most ive won is £50 on a scratch card and never won a bean on the lotto :D
Over to you :D

Won odd £10 on lotto and odd £20 max on scratch cards.
A female Customer at work came in to cash a scratchcard last week. She thought she had just won £5... Colleague scanned card on Lottery machine, wouldn't accept it. Turns out she had actually won £50,000 a year - for life.
Let's just say - I nearly mugged her!

Most ive ever won was £7.70 on the Euro.
The girlfriends mum matched 5 + bonus once over...but typically there were loads of winners that week so she didnt get a huge payout.

I had 5 numbers up a few months back but it was a week when a lot of others did too (515 I think)...I won £818.00. A friend of my sisters who was a dinner lady at the local junior school won £5.9 Million in the first year of the lottery.

I would estimate about a hundred wins but mostly ten pound ones, biggest in all the years since it started is £144.00.
I would say I'm well down over the years as I probably average ten pounds a week, I doubt I will ever get a big one but if you don't play you never will, its better than putting the money in fruit machines something I had a habit of doing before the lottery started.
The thing that I hate is when you get an email saying " exciting news about your lottery ticket" when you look you're just hoping it's big one but it's always about ten quid :(
I've had 4 numbers up a few times but it didn't make much, £40 or £50 I think. I know a guy quite well who got 250K a few years ago, and know of a local chap who won the 1 million prize on the euromillions UK draw, lucky bugger.

We do €10 on wednesday, €9 on friday and €10 on saturday. Done it for 5 years now here and never did it in the UK as was on the dole a lot. Most ever won was €1,000 we put it towards getting a new TV, dishwasher, cooker and the house decorated.

I use to do nightshifts at the garages many moons ago and I would easily spend half my nights earnings on the cards. Won £50 once but I would say over time I made a small loss.

I won £200 on a scratch card the week they first started but nothing since I figer Ive hsd my win so I only get lotto on rollovers
my brother in-law won £58,000 we didn't even get taken out for a meal to celebrate (tight git) he didn't even treat his parents
I have had £40 a couple of time out of a bonus ball thing we do in the WMC and £28 on the Euromillions. I rarely win more than a tenner.
Overall I would say I average about £6 per week on the lottery so I am well down, but it must be my turn for a decent win soon so I can pack it in!!

Sorry to pick up on this, but you spend 30 euros a week, so that's 120 a month and 14400 a year and you've been doing it 5 years to win 1000 back?
Why not just save the money?

To be fair the margins on lottery are rubbish for retailers so not really viable for them to pay for extra staff. Usually its provided so they make money on linked and impulse purchases.

if you were to win that much at every draw your losses would only be about 50% :) I'm not a betting man but would prefer to spend my money on sport betting as I have some knowledge about it.
Did anyone see the programme on Channel 4 (or More 4) early this week about Lottery winners and the effect it has on them. One guy won it but didnt realise until the last day and then couldnt find his ticket. After a lot of press pressure Camelot still refused to pay and his marriage broke up (probabbly blamed each other on losing the ticket) and he went to the us and joined a cult :daft: . He eventually got his head together, came back to the uk and wrote a book called 'six lucky numbers.'

Bit of a daft question to put on a forum.Mainly because if anyone had had a massive win you wouldn't see them for dust.
Hmmm lying on a beach and living the high life or luggin big speakers around and getting abuse of punters.

The best advice I heard was just after the lottery first started in the UK in 1994.
"save the money you would spend on the lottery"
e.g. £5 a week since 1994 = £4420

2.Addicted Man’s Wife and Daughter Commit Suicide. We usually see talk about lottery addiction mostly in North America and Europe, particularly in the U.S. and UK. However it’s a problem that can wreak havoc in lives around the world. Case in point; in 2007 a woman and her daughter hung themselves in India due at least in part to the problems that the husband/father had with lottery addiction. The man was addicted to single-digit lottery tickets to the point where he owed people a lot of money. The man went on the run and the women were being harassed for the money. They saw suicide as their only way out. What a tragic case of the effects of lottery addiction on the whole family.

I don't play the lottery as the chances of a win are so minute, and there's no fun in it either.
If there was a higher chance of a decent win (decreasing the maximum jackpot, of course), and there was something more to it than picking random numbers, I might be more interested.

Every week Gemma and I buy 4 scratch cards each.
We swap them round and mark who's is who...
I open two of mine and opens the other two - visa versa.
She went upstairs to make a coffee and came down screaming - (the girl with the hat on behind me)
She'd cut it out perfectly and prit sticked it on a real ticket.
I phoned up Mum and shouting - sent the picture to her and Dad.

I thought it felt funny. I was on a real high.Sorry Charlie - just doesn't ring true any more....
Yeah... why exactly would you have mistaken it for £8K?
Something smells incredibly fishy here.Little boy who cried wolf once too often, trying to take us all for mugs (again)

Oh, and on the forum, it's 'Gemma' who did it to you, but on FB, it's 'Laura'.
Am I the only one who's fed up with Charlie's attention-seeking 'jokes' and stunts?

Keep digging, Charlie....
... you still haven't managed to come up with ANY excuse whatsoever as to why you thought it was £8K

Why would I make excuses?
Again, it's another card they've fooled me with. Would you like me to take a picture of that too?
Why would I even bother making it up?
I visit the forum every day - me winning £100K would change my life forever. The 'lie' or 'joke' would come out eventually. I like having a few laughs, but I wouldn't do this.
Although they pulled it off quite well. They took the photo of me holding it to send to Mum.

Why would I even bother making it up?"Me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me."
I really can't be bothered any more. It's one too many jokes / stunts as far as I'm concerned, so I'm done.

What your posts have done Charlie is highlight the fact (again) that you love the attention and also that once again, a thread that doesn't really have anything to do with Mobile Discos (I know it's in MDD Chat) gets more replies than one that does....
You're like a mini soap opera, you really are. I'll be honest mate, I don't take you seriously and haven't done for ages now because every now and then you have those moments where you just go off on one. I don't know whether it's because you're bored or what? You shouldn't be as you work in the daytime. Stolen phones, Beatings on the way home from the pub, Drunk DJing and falling in ditches and now you can add this to your list.

Apart from anything else, there is no way that the card pictured has had the silver layer scratched off of it. Far too clean.

Here goes, I’ll be the bigger man…
I lied.
Work did play a prank on me and I believed them for a good half hour or so. Phoning Mum and Dad was also true but when I was studying the ticket I could see the first half was peeling off….pulled it and obviously the real (un successful) ticket was revealed.
I didn’t have any viewings in the afternoon (quite a boring day at work) so I was stupid enough to then play the same prank on you guys. There is no point in me saying sorry because that’s all I ever do – but there you go, I lied and tried to wind/annoy you all. My silly prank ended up wasting people’s time and in the long run, wasn’t even funny….all because I was bored at work. I apologise.
…..just when I was beginning to behave as well.

:agree: I didn't believe it for a minute, partly because I saw it on my iPhone, and partly because if it was true, we wouldn't see (proper) Charlie for dust ! (or at least he'd make a fresh thread !) Stop playing silly devils Charlie you're not doing yourself any favours, remember potential clients can read this forum and that isn't doing your reputation any good.
in other news I REALLY DID win €150 on the Lotto here ! (and spent it on a new and improved website !)

I sussed you out a long time ago Charlie and your admission is the first admission I have seen. I am pretty sure it should be about the 6th or 7th from memory but I'll leave it there....at least you apologised (this time).
