Hello everybody

Hope your all ok,

It was so close today I have a wedding at the weekend however when I went into my itunes account it wouldn't open:Censored: :Censored: :Censored: I tried everything to open it but it wouldn't open.:mad: :mad: :( :( :(

Seven hours later I figured out there were two corrupted files on it, how they got there who knows.:eek: :confused:

Put it like this I need a back up ASAP!!!!!!!!

Although there is plenty of pro software (Serato for example) that can read and use the library...and even then its not great :o

I agree, but I just use itunes to download music and make playlist to put into Mixmeister.

I wouldn't even bother to use it for downloads. By comparison Amazon is almost always cheaper..

Is this Itunes on a PC as I have it on both and the PC is always going wrong.
My Mac Itunes has been fine for years.

Itunes is so unstable on my pc its bloody annoying.

That said it has the biggest database of tracks and for that reason alone I put up with it.

Applying that logic.......

Windows must be hugely better than anything by Apple or the Linux community.

A Ford Mondeo must by seriously superior to a Rolls Royce.

You honestly believe those 'millions of users' are using iTunes in a professional capacity, where the very slightest glitch can kill a party and even a persons reputation?
But software designed for a few thousand DJ's who make money directly from it's use will just be thrown together because 'only' a few Dj's use it so it doesn't really matter?

I have never had a problem with iTunes as its always been stable for me.

I run Safari on my home PC as well and again it works well. I quite like Apple software, just not Apple hardware.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:Precisely, a typical user will only be temporarily inconvenienced by any software problems, but a professional live user will, as Sleah says, be in big trouble.

Do you think Apple would take responsibility if iTunes lets you down? Not likely.

In any case, every DJ should have contingency plans should their main playout system fail them.

Seems odd-I use an I pod now as a Hard drive and in addition I download on i tunes and then copy to a CD then rip to my back up Hard drive.

I can understand a corrupted file from a Disco collection being put INTO an i tunes collection but not a corrupted itunes original file.

Or maybe im missing a techhie point possibly.

Never used I-tunes on a disco basis but used it a few times at friends etc and find it quite hard to get to terms with (hardly used it so that's maybe why) lol

Personally, the single reason why I refuse to buy music from iTunes is because of the iTunes Software. As a software developer I think it's horrendous, both for a usability perspective and in terms of the way it uses and abuses system resources.

I would never, ever trust it in a live situation.

It will do this if the iPod is set to sync itself automatically when it is connected to iTunes. This can be turned off. If its turned on then the iPod can only be used with one computer :confused:

I used iTunes in beta when it first came out on PC. Its come along way since those days lol I think its pretty slick and not as heavy on resources as some other media players.

I have I-Tunes and have used it a few times and it's fine and it's PC based. I can't remember the last time I used it to purchase tracks as I use Amazon MP3 all of the time now. It's cheaper and seems to be quicker (for me anyway) with no problems, dodgy files etc etc...

I use i tunes in conujction with serato but never use it for downlaoding, i use it as a library and where my music is organised. Used it for 5 years without a hitch.
