Hello,

I want to make my own speaker cables. Where is the best place to but the cable and connectors from?

Thanks
Michael :)

CPC?

The logical answer. However, despite searching the catalogue on more than one occasion, I have never found the sort of cable desired. ( Waits for Steve to prove me wrong. ;) )

Some of the best cable I ever got was from Maplins!! High grade, large csa conductors. I don't expect they do it now, as they were selling it off half price when I got mine. Wish I'd bought the whole reel. :(

The last time I was in Maplins looking for digital timer plug I might add, I did notice that they had some very nice quality speakon cables at a reasonable price, other than special lengths I don't think I would want to make my own.

If you're after standard 5m speakon to speakon cables, I have 4 that are surplus to requirements now? Drop me a PM if you want to make me an offer?

As people have said, unless you want something special its cheaper too buy off the shelf than make your own.

Depends on what you need. CPC had some good 100m reels on offer a couple of weeks ago.

Yeah, looking for a custom size so thought I will have to make my own. I did look in CPC but cant see what im looking for so think I will just head to maplin.

Julian, Im looking for a bit longer than 5m but thanks!

Yeah, looking for a custom size so though

For what purpose? Linking tops & subs? Running from amp to speaker?

In both cases i'd personally just buy off the shelf - I'd rather have a cable thats 'slightly' too long than a cable that was fine for one situation, but too short for another.
