I have always been a big fan of the Proel Die Hard 24 Carat Gold-Plated XLR cables. But I am having supplier issues with them... rumours are that they are being discontinued.
I have been recommended Klotz. Anyone used these or got any other suggestions?
I am used to paying £10-£20 per cable but can stretch further for quality.

Klots , while sounding like they deserve to be classed as daft , are rather good indeed.
I use Proel myself but I've not particularly used Proel Die Hard 24 Carat Gold-Plated XLR cables.
I find that Klots are very resistant to abuse and sound very good.

If you can make them or have a local person that will make them for a resonable cost then go for Van Damme / Neutrik as it will work out cheaper and be very good.
I have home made, Horizon, Planet waves, QED and various ones inc. Proell and think that there is little to choose between those which are all prob mid-range.
I would say don't bother with the cheapos such as Sound Lab and Stag etc. but likewise don't bother with the silly priced ones at the other end of the spectrum as they aint that much better.

Thanks. Ordered a couple to give them a try. Lee
