QSC + DBX DriveRack PX

Just set up my QSC K12s and KSubs with a Driverack PX.

I have followed the Quick Start Guide... but I have a couple of silly questions that I wonder if someone who has set them up before can advise on.

Normally I patch the audio from the K12s to the KSubs. But with the Driverack I have had to wire them directly to the box itself. I take it that is correct?
My main question relates to the settings on the back of the K12s. Normally I would switch them to the Ext Sub setting when using the KSubs... but should this be left as normal when used with a Driverack?

Finally, when I used to remove rogue frequencies manually (with a Multi-band EQ) I would use the British style EQ to adjust the sound to my ears. But with the Driverack it is asking how I would like the EQ to start with. I am thinking of keeping it flat and going back to the British EQs on the mixer for final adjustment. What do others do? Is there are prefered EQ setting on the DBX Driverack for DJing?

ps. Loving my new A&H Zed12fx mixing desk. Got 4 jobs this weekend... so should be able to give a good review of it next week.

It automatically EQs the room and provides Feedback suppression. It also offers compression.

I had thought of getting a 1u rack 31 band graphic EQ but I would be there all day knocking out the dodgy frequencies myself. Had been using a 9band EQ but that was taking out more frequencies than needed. This DBX Driverack offer full Auto-EQ without the hassle.

I am very impressed with it.

sounds interesting. Is it better than other feedback destroyer that are supposed to take out whole frequency bands and adversely affect the overall sound also.

What microphone are you using with it ?
Leave the settings on the K12's as normal (the drive-rack will attend to any EQing because it has the parameters of your K12's already installed / or at least it aught to).
I use the EQ's in the drive rack , the only time I use the EQ's on my mixer is when I don't like how a particular track sounds - or if I am cutting bass , mids or highs when mixing.
Also bear in mind , if you EQ your system while the hall , room , cupboard where you're set up is devoid of people - it's going to sound all different when you have 'X' amount of people milling about at the 'party'.

Don't go near a feedback destroyer if you can finance a DBX Driverack...

This DBX driverak looks like an amazing bit of kit. I have read the de-structions guide but it is no clear whether you need to eq using pink noise or whether you can just put it in line, set it to Auto and let it do it's thing?

LOL , when I asked what mike you use I was referring to the mike that plugs into the front of the Drive-rack ;) .
The only way to EQ when the hall is full is.....EQ when the hall is full :( .
That's really a no no , don't you agree ?
If you start adjusting your mixers EQ you will not be feeding the Drive-rack with a calibrated signal , if you want to 'up' the bass and treble (because the crowd are absorbing your sonic extremes) it is preferable that you do it via the user selectable EQ's built into the Drive-rack.

I never had any subs before these so nothing to compare them against.
I bought them because they fit perfectly into my box-van and because they are on wheels! I think they are great and wouldn't swap them for anything. ... but if I had a bigger box van may consider the QSC KW series.

If you do buy them and use them with your K12s you do (against manufacture advice) buy longer poles for floor level performances - just to get the speakers above head height.

Cool thanks for the advice. I Just seen a picture of them on your website and they dook look nice with the K12's.
