QTXLight FX1000 Hazer problem

Hi all

Have the Qtx Fx1000 Hazer and it has stopped producing haze, the lights all light up, turn from red to blue, fan starts when you press the button but no haze from pipe.
Anyone any ideas or is it bin and get another machine.

probally the little metal pipe is blocked - if its under warrenty take it back.

or you could try boiling some distilled water and hit the button to see if it clears.

had both mine over a year now and not had this issue

Ok just to add I have been looking at it since posting and if you watch the pipe from the fluid bottle when you press the button, the fluid slightly goes to move the first few times you press it and then nothing moves in pipe.
Hope I am explaining that clear.
Not under warranty anymore so how would you do the distilled water??

it may be teh pump has gone or the pipe is blocked.

empty the big bottle, put a few inches of hot water ( or distilled) in there and turn on.

wait for it to heat up and press teh manual button for short stabs n see if it starts to let steam thru - may take a while.

another option is to remove the pipe and with a very thin bit or electric wire gently insert to see if blocked.

have you used teh fx lots ? do you empty the bottle after every use ?

Yeah it was used regular but then not used for last few weeks. Got to admit I dont empty the bottle every gig, it gets put in flight box with fluid as well.

Get WHITE vinegar in with the DISTILLED water also, stinks when it goes through the heater element but cleans the crud out. :)

Sounds like a blocked heater block , cheap to replace (£12.78 inc' VAT).
Vinegar and distilled water wont work (IMO) as the pipework is already blocked and you cant push anything into the pipework (to clear it) because the diameter is too small ...
The vinegar and distilled water is for maintaining the pipework , it wont clear a blockage unless you have some flow remaining.

Place your order via your nearest supplier , you can not buy directly from AVSL Group.

It looks like the Fx1000 has been superseded by the HZ-2 600W HAZE MACHINE , don't worry , I'm sure they can still supply a heater block for the 1000.
You may even be able to upgrade your 1000 to HZ-2 spec' if the only real difference is the haze output nozzle , speak to the tech' dept at avsl , they are very helpful.....As I hope I have been.....

You may think you've taken on a big job when you start to strip down the casing of the 1000 , but don't get stressed because it's rather easy to change the heater block.
The hardest part (for me) was putting the heater block and thermal wadding (like loft insulation) back into the heater block case , and that was easy.

The only difference between the 2 versions, is they have changed the external pipe - the mk1 suffers a bit from dribbling especially if used heavily - apparently the mk2 this is no longer an issue.

I leave about 2" in the bottom of mine, as advised it stops it drying out - dont know how true this is but so far it seems to work

Ok stripped it down and releaed the metal pipe off the pump, tried the button and nothing coming through the pump so looks like a new pump is needed.
Cant beleive how many screws are in the casing.

LATEST UPDATE

Took the pump out and released the screws that hold pump in cradle and Hey presto!!! pump worked so reassembled and tested as I went and Haze machine is fully functional again ready for this weekend, and my kitchen is nicely hazed.

Yes and me, only problem is I managed to break the filter off the end of the pips so looks like super glue time but otherwise Good result
