i wont use www.soundlightuk.com these days after i bought some lights from them - they went wrong so i sent them back and then they repaired them and sent them to an old address of mine (even though the system had been updated and they had sent other stuff to my new address before this happened!) Someone at my old address had signed for them and since done a runner....
Still trying to resolve it as they say it's not their fault as it was signed for there for their part in it is over - but my argument is they sent it to the wrong address in the first place and i didn't sign for anything - i can prove this as i wasn't even in the country on the date they say it was signed!.... So far no resolve even though it is their fault and i'm still left without the lights!...
so i never deal with them now..

I use my local DJ emporium, because they are reliable trustworthy and extremely helpful. I feel it is very important to support the local business, so that they are there to help when you have an emergency. Mail order and t'internet are ok, but at the end of the day, they don't really give a ****.

Good point Pete, but there's not really anyone very local to me.
I get some stuff from Leisuretec who are very efficient, but not the cheapest distributer.
And, in the last two years I have used....
BK Sound
CPC
Sapphires/Decks
DFB
Discostudio
Discoworld
Images
Spire Technology
DJ kit
Dolphin Music
Digital Village
Imuso
Phase One
Stagebeat

LOL, BT Woman knows all :) ... Well this is what I heard. Sales were decreasing and they were struggling with making a profit (therefore paying the rent). So they set up a web shop "Mobile disco store" as a final attempt to get it going again. Unfortunately this didn't go too well and they ended up oweing a few people money/products. I knew a guy who was and possibly still is waiting for something he is owed from Ken (owns KC) and tried numerous times to get hold of him. I was talking one of the managers of Cabaret bar in the city centre where ive done a few gigs; KC supplied all their lighting gear and I was discussing with him how they went bust. He explained that Ken was still trading from his house to current clients. Now if this was true all the gear would have stockpiled and so would've needed the place 'behind the pet shop' to keep it. It wont be a commercial unit ir it would be clearly visible and I haven't seen it. In this regard it will be considerably less to rent than the old shop which is huge.
thats all. ;)
