I know 90% of people on here probably don't like them, but I definitely think they have their uses. Certainly not for your average Mobile Disco, but for extra re-enforcement speakers in another room, or outside I think they can look quite neat.
Been thinking of grabbing a couple, as I don't think they're that expensive? Could be wrong, haven't even looked.
I've added a poll for fun - Are you For or Against ScrimKings :)
EDIT: Just realised this should probably be in Equipment Discussion Forums. :coat:

I have a pair of scrims, but my cloth is just plain, I actually think it looks better. No wires to break, lights to go out and replace, also it's one more thing to find a socket for ! I have been considering a starcloth, but I think it's just one more thing to go wrong/plug in/fit properly etc.
I did contact ScrimKing about a scrim for a 4ft deckstand, they said the table one would fit. I've got some videos on my YouTube channel of them being used, but might get some flatter led panels/pars to uplight them. Mine were from Ellaskins, think they were £50 with £5 p&p If you search his channel for Scrimking you'll see the details, but the email address is

I voted ok in certain situations,....................I've changed my mind (What was I thinking of?) They're :Censored: awful :D :D
I think the black ones look ok-ish. The white ones just look like something out of the 'The only way is Essex'

The ones with the leds on look like a christmas tree attached to a speaker stand. Even the plain ones still look rubbish.

Not for me thanks.
Cowlinn (Matt?)....I asked a while back about your set up as I have never seen it and you said to look in the gallery. I did but couldn't find anything so I wondered (apologies for going off topic) if you could give me a link or something.
I see you post all the time on here but I have yet to see your set up.
[Edit] - I'm just interested, that's all.

You're either interested or stirring, haven't quite worked out which yet.
Not a lot of images exist of my set up due to a few reasons (i.e. not getting as much disco work as I used to, and on the rare occasion I do, I never have a camera)
But heres one from a few months back - Only thing thats changed is I'm now the proud owner of a star cloth, and yes they tacky banner to the right now stays at home ;)

Looks pretty :Censored: in that photo, but it's quite effective in the dark with a little smoke (venue permitting) IMO

Think that is uncalled for Matty I think Garry asked a valid question and worded it very well.
Has anyone used or seen just plain black scrim king? Now I'm using four tripods I don't like having the legs out on show even when you place one behind the other. Not a fan of Paulies or the starcloth ones but maybe plain black might be better than 12 tripod legs being on show?

Hold on! Hold on!
Matt - Why did you edit your post? When you posted your reply the first time round it did not have the first line in it asking / implying that I maybe stirring.
Totally out of order. I asked a simple question and not for the first time, you have a go. For the record though....I was interested.
Your paranoia makes you think I was stirring. Why would I?
The reason I asked was as I said....I was interested because I asked a while back too and couldn't find anything in the gallery. The reason I was interested (if you really must know) is because you have been on here since 2009, have a lot to comment on, advice to give etc etc yet never seem to do anything.
No doubt some of the posts will be deleted now because you've had to have a go and this will be deleted too. Nice one.

I have a pair of the plain black ones, which I use if I am just using my powered speakers, or, if I have a lighting effect mounted on a tripod in the corner of a room.
I think they look better than just a tripod.

Must say that I don't like them and haven't done since I first saw them a while ago.
Just my personal opinion - not going to comment any further!! ;)

I don't have any pictures of them at the minute, I never seem to get the chance to use the camera. I will try to get some pictures this weekend.
I think they soften the look of a tripod. And make the setup look a bit more elegant.
