Just a heads up if you haven't heard - although it was in our local paper, so not sure if it's hit the national news yet?

Swallow Hotel group have just gone bankrupt. They own the Belstead Brook in Ipswich where I have a couple of wedding booked for next year, so I think a call to the client to make sure everything is Ok might be a good plan.

If anyone knows more.....?

I had heard something about this.

If anyone wants to check if any hotel you have a booking with is part of the Swallow Hotels group, here's a link to the website and you can call up maps of each area with the names of the hotels on it (point your mouse at the red dots) :teeth:

Mind you, chances are that it will be sold as a going concern and all bookings will be honoured anyway.

heres the news via the publican magazine to back it up

More than 7,000 jobs at risk as a buyer is sought

London & Edinburgh Inns has been put into administration after making "heavy losses".

A statement by administrators Ernst & Young (E&Y) said London & Edinburgh Swallow Group (L&ES), which owns and operates the pub arm and the group's hotel division, would continue to trade on a "business as usual" basis.

The group has been making losses for some time and using up cash, said a E&Y spokeswoman, and it need the protection of administration.

Administrator Angela Swarbick said E&Y would be exploring "the possibility of a sale of the businesses and thier assets as going concerns.

ThePublican.com reported exclusively last week that L&ES had called in consultants, including Ernst & Young, to conduct a review of the business.

L&ES executive chairman Alan Bowes told thepublican.com the review would last "four to six weeks".

The group operates a total of 671 sites - pubs and hotels - and employs around 7,300 people.

Alan Bowes was unavailable for comment at the time of writing.
