Has anyone ever worked at The Waldorf Hilton Aldwych?

Yes i have.

Access is relatively easy. You can more or less pull up outside the back door (whic is down a few steps from street level) and you are straight in the room. However you must unload through the front of the hotel at the end of the night which is a fair walk to be honest, its all level except for a few steps down towards the hotel front door. I didnt take a roadie but you probably have more gear than me so a roadie would be advisable.

Its a huge room, long and narrow. Sometimes its sectioned off to make it small. They have a load of scans (abstract vr8's i think) in the ceiling whuch look really good as they are located all over the room but hidden away.

How come you have to load at the front at the end of the night? Is there a parking bay or is it on metres?

The residents who are opposite the ballroom back door complained apparently about artistes loading vans and being noisy late at night.

You can unload outside the ballroom back door but you will need to move your van once all your gear is in the ballroom as you will be parked on double yellows while you unload. You cant park in the street the ballroom door is on as its residents only but if you drive to the top of the road and turn left, there are parking bays there. If you cant park there, drive 30 metres up this road and turn right, theres parking metres all along there.

To be honest, i make sure i arrive at the hotel for 6pm, unload and then find a space for free. Ive been 3 times this year and never had a problem.

I meant to add that, when loading outside the front of the hotel, its pretty easy to park up. Theres a bay for taxis etc.

I did a xmas one at The Waldorf Hilton on the Aldwitch.
Parking and load in was easy from Tavistock St round the back. Was lucky to get a space right by loading in door straight into function room.

BUT

We were not allowed to go back out that way due to residents opposite.
We had to move the van round the front of the Hotel, right on the Aldwitch one way system, jostle for position with the 100s of black cabs, and transport all the kit through the entire hotel from the function room at the back, zig zag through and out the main reception and main front doors and across the massive wide pavement full of pedestrians trying to get taxis. Whole operation took about an hour to get out.

Take a roadie and a trolley and don't do it for cheap, you will regret it.
