pulse can stand upgrade

bought a load of mk1 pulse cans for uplighting a while ago,the ones with the single bracket,i have been using some h-brackets to stand them on the floor up to now.

today i have just ordered some aftermarket brackets,so i can do away with the h-brackets.
thought i would just give you guys a heads up in case anybody is interested.

I get the impression that isn't what they are for though - aren't they just to extend the cans higher so the DMX lead fits now? It doesn't say they are a replacement for the h-stands.

These yoke's are manufactured 50mm longer than the original to allow clearance for the DMX connections when using the par cans as uplighters on floor standing bases.

im having a slight punt assuming that the original bracket will be able to stay on as well and the can will be able to stand on it's own without the need for a stand.

not too worried if i still have to use the stands with the longer brackets at least i will be able to get the can to sit straight up with a dmx lead in,which i can't at the moment.

That's correct, they are purely extenders to allow more clearance underneath them. They also make the MK1's the same height off the floor as the MK2's.

I'm afraid you will still require a stand. The best stands I've found for the PARs are these from Ultimax:

Just read your last point. No way of leaving the old bracket on. Its a replacement bracket.

I have no experience of the gear in question, but my simple little mind wonders if fitting a pair of these new brackets to each unit would allow the orientation required? I've seen the Thomann ones shown thus.

I reckon it might work, but I read your post as meaning that that's what the extra long bracket was for and I didn't want members moaning if it didn't work!

Well I'm going to order 2 as I've only got 2 pars ! I think they're the lightmaxx ones in chrome. Might be better for lighting my scrims.

I wouldn't think so as there the same length


I'm thinking of buying these and leaving the original length ones on though so that one is longer than the other , Would that work?
