Draycote Hotel near Rugby

Hi

Have got a wedding here later this year, Have done the site visit and wondered if anyone else has played here as cant get my head around setting up due to layout of room

Ok so I guess no one here has worked Draycote Hotel. Not being that clever with computers I have attached a quick sketch of the room layout, not to scale.
The problem I have is how to set up, I use a deckstand and overhead bar, if I set up so the front is facing the dance floor then I will have my back to half the audience. If I angle or face the audience with the deckstand my lightshow will not cover the dancefloor without it looking silly

Any suggestions

As long as the audience can hear the music is there an issue ?

Ideally you would be where the buffet is but if that isn't possible then angle one of your speakers towards the audience.

Agreed except the people at the far end of the table at the bottom of the sketch wont hear anything properly unless you take the speaker to the corner edge and angle it.

Mind you they might be grateful;)

Its not so much the sound as the deckstand and how to position it, do I have it facing the dance floor and have my back to half the room or would you angle it and ahve the lights angled on to dance floor.

You need to face the Dance Floor.

You are the DJ;)

Generally people will only dance on the Dance Floor, people in other places might not appreciate lighting in their faces.

When speaking however you can turn and look at the people who are at 90 degrees to you--well other than those hidden from view. Whether they can all hear you is another matter.

Terribly badly set up venue---bit like some Golf Clubs we play where the Bar is round the corner out of sight and sound so I have to walk down the room and shout at people to join in---all part of the job as an Entertainer:D
