For tonights fun I was asked to provide a mirror ball, and I did cus i got a biggie, anyway I bought from ebay a skytec battery mirror ball motor, its says 6mph, but I swear it was to fast. the reflextions where almost a line it was going that quick.

So how do you work out if it is 6 mph or is there a way of slowing these things down, or is it because its made by skytec and thats what you get for buying crap :teeth:

cheers

If its a "cheapy" motor, just chuck it on either a dimmer circuit or chuck a variable resistor in there somewhere, if its expensive, you might not want too, as it probably won't do the motor good, but shouldn't harm it badly.

Or, if possible (depending on power requirements of it), lower the voltage :)

I notice this with my ones the ceiling attached ones run about 6rpm but the battery portable ones do 3 - 6 rpm dependant on battery power
