Good Evening, last new years eve I was booked to DJ a family gig at a family members house/ Garden. I managed to connect to their internet and found an on-line clock that counts down, and put that through my laptop onto my screens that counted down throughout the night.
This year however, the venue we have been booked does not have any internet access.
Can anybody please suggest a good downloadable clock that they use? Or how you display a countdown clock for the venue to see.
Thanks in advance.
Chris.

Why did you send via PM, Dave? I'd be interested in how to do this too.

If you've got a website with a countdown clock, it should be possible to save an offline version of it. The countdown will probably be javascript and will work perfectly well offline. Even if it's Flash it should work offline, with a little prompting.

Just stumbled upon this: http://itsalmo.st/
Make any countdown you like very quickly, which you could save an offline version of easily :)

The only problem I can see with using DVD visuals is that the clock is pre-recorded, if you like, and if you don't press play at the right time then midnight will either come early or late (not that many people will mind but you'll always get one!).
I've got a countdown timer (think it's called Karen's Tools or something like that!) which, as it's run from the laptop, used the laptops internal clock which is updated daily using an online clock sync service. I just need to set a countdown for midnight and, with about a minute to go, expand it on to the extended desktop so it shows on the external monitors.
Dead easy and I know we'll be celebrating midnight at midnight (albeit without the bells but I've got those on an SFX disc anyway so it's easy to get round!).

That's why I have 3 clocks with me and set them accurately before I leave home.
Play needs to be pressed at exactly 2300.

I use this http://www.worldtimeserver.com/atomic-clock/ you can sync it whenever you want and it means your laptop internal clock is 100% accurate.
