I have a very reliable Seagate 320gb external HD must be over 5 years old--perfect.

I did a gig in a Riding School with a very dusty sandy floor last week.

Dust everywhere.

After the gig I picked up the HDD and blew quite a bit of dust out of the grilles at the top--I assume they are heat vents.

Should I do anything else to prevent any possible damage?

I have played plenty of Barns but this was very bad for dust.

thanks

If you can open the case then i would do so and just blow or use compressed air to get rid of any dust that is in there.

The hard drive itself will be sealed so dust will not get in
