I bought a similar one form Aldi a few years ago. They are fine and strong enough, but won't even look at grass or any loose stones.

These come highly reccomended http://rocknrollercart.com/

No good if you have steps / stairs in your way....
I use a barrow with tri-wheel axles (similar to those used by UPS etc).
Makes stairs disappear...

I quite like the look of this http://www.primrose.co.uk/tri-truck---the-best-garden-trolley-there-is-p-17.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=marketing&utm_campaign=googlebase

The one in Aldi is good if space saving is a priority. If you want choice and reliability, go to Machine Mart, and have a play with theirs. Most decent sized branches have 80% of the range set up already.

this looks like the same thing

£45.00:eek:

so Aldi looks like a good price.

I have had many trucks and barrows over the years and the only one I would recommend is one with pneumatic tyres.

I have one that I bought from Costco years ago, but am not sure where you can get them now.

Costco do a really durable version for about £45. I got two. Perfect for stacking on my flight cases and bags (for venues without stairs)

As we just found out when buying one for our Rodeo Bull from B and Q--the tyres can get punctured/go down, although generally agree much better for absorbing shocks.

The tri wheel things are great until you are going many steps downstairs with a heavy load--then you may not be able to hold it ---depending on the weight of your equipment of course---

Perhaps the site of the company mentioned by the Old Git might be worth a look? :D :D :D :D

i bought a regular trolley from aldi a couple of years back and it broke quite easily. its still usable but when extended the handle doesnt click into place and it can move up and down a bit. My rockandroller is virtually indestructible though!

So much depends on what you want to put on it, where you want to wheel it ( grass or hard surfaces ) and what you want to spend.

Some of the cheaper items can be unsuited to dragging heavy loads across rough ground, and high thresholds.

My platform truck: http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cpf300-heavy-duty-platform-truck/path/pallet-trucks-platform-trucks

Platform trucks with hinges and locking mechanisms will deform if pulled hard with heavy loads aboard. Fixed handles are superior.

Sack Truck: As Darren says, pneumatics all the way. The toe plate folds on this one.

IMO the Rock'n'Roller on ebay at a few pence over £76 delivered is a great option. It is strong, hard wearing, Pneumatic tyres and extendable. Suitable over grass as well, it is worth paying that bit more to get something that will not let you down. I haven't got one but then never needed one as we carry the gear.

I use this one

Good to have the option to use it as either a platform type trolley or as an upright trolley.

Money well spent but make sure you keep the tyres inflated ;)

I had a feeling you might have been. I know where you can get pneumatic tyred castors for such an animal, ( self build/conversion, obviously ) but to my eternal shame, I can't give a link to a ready made one. :( :( :o :o

Yet. ;)

Edit: Ooh look. Platform trucks with pneumatic tyres, all sizes, all styles, all prices. :D

A very handy piece of kit, I had the equivalent one with small rubber wheels. (The one above yours. )

One of these days, I'm going to put pneumatics under the one I have now, the Platform Trolley.

Thats expensive... you only have to put a quid in the ones here and if you are lucky you can find one looking lost in a back street somewhere :)

I have a folding trolley that I got from CPC a few years ago for about £20

Or use one of those trolley disks, (the ones you can get on a keyring sold for charity) free then !

Is it just me or did anyone else think of:

"I need a trolley, trolley, a trolley is what I need (hey, hey)
I need a trolley, trolley, a trolley is what I need (hey, hey)
I need a trolley, trolley, a trolley is what I need
If I share with you my story would you share your trolley with me?"

I really should get out more!!
