I watched the first 15 mins before going Source and to see how cheap Channel 5 have made the show. Utter :Censored:

to see how cheap Channel 5 have made the show.
That implies that it used to be a quality show. Its always been :Censored:
Mind numbing :Censored: with the sole aim of getting people to spend a fortune texting in to raise money for the producers.

It was brilliant last night and I'm already looking forward to tonight's episode.
It's just funny.

It's a shame, channel 5 isn't available here in Ireland, NOT ! I haven't watched it since Brian Dowling was in it, he's dong voiceovers for UPC now !

There aren't half some miserable pre-historic sods on here huh ! :D Finger on the pulse of popular culture, NOT !
I suppose they're all smoking a pipe, in their favourite knitted cardigan, listening to Val Doonican on a Thursday night at 9p.m !

"popular culture"
popular it may be, but I certainly dont consider it to be culture.....
...unless the world "culture" is used in the same context as it would be when referring to a petri dish.
There is definately something nasty growing on the TV

Should I have said 'pop' instead of popular?

It's just boring to watch. Why would anyone want to just sit there and watch so-called celebrities in a house?
I've got better things to do with my time...

I don't watch it anymore, but it's certainly better than X Factor (and all of it's predecessors and variations).
The thing is, when it's done right, it's anything but trash TV. If you've any interest in psychology and human behaviour, it can be quite fascinating.
The trouble is, the producers of the show keep interfering with the natural developments in the house in an attempt to keep it 'fresh', and that's when I lose interest :(

Thats hardly a glowing recommendation though !!

Therein lies the EXACT problem - the producers.
The first series was genuine because nobody had ever seen it before but from then on the contestants were all people who wanted their 5 minutes of fame and would do anything to get it, and the producers deliberately chose contestant who conflict as much as possible, eg a couple of gays and a homophobic, a black person and a racist bigot.
IF it was a genuine situation like a shared student house whilst at university, at least the people in there would have some things in common other than wanting to be attention seeking Z list celebrities.
It not just Big Brother, it Come dine with me, Wife Swap, in fact ANY TV show even the likes of Grand Designs and Property Ladder. I am on a mailing list for people building their own homes and someone on there knew a person who was on Property Ladder. He was converting a flat and had budgeted £1000 for the kitchen, he said he would like to spend more but the development didnt warrant it, which is exactly the thing that Sarah Beeny was always saying to people about where they went wrong for over spending.
The producers gave him £3000 to put a better kitchen in the flat which did look very nice but when it came to the broadcast he was put down... "The kitchen looks very nice but you shouldnt have spent more than £1000 on it"
When Robot Wars first started it was reasonably technical, you saw a lot of how the robots were constructed and it was a really good program, then the producers dumbed it down for the masses and the House Robots became mobile car crushing plants and any robot unfortiunate enough to break down becuase of the slightest fault got smashed to pieces by the house robots destroying hundreds of manhours of hard work and investment.
Im sick of everything being dumbed down for the masses and the fact that the masses are getting dumber and dumber. I think the only time my TV gets put on ITV now is for the local news, and thats only if I am not going to be in when the BBC version is on 30 minutes later.

I'll still watch it but this year it's rubbish.
I don't like the mound of editing and music they've introduced...I just want to watch them in silence without all the tacky gymics.
Also, are they not competing for food on the tasks? Where are Kerry's cigarette rations and why are they supplying endless amounts of booze?
